Instructions

Hello, and thank you for downloading my MMX mod! I hope you enjoy it.
Inside of this .zip file you will find Mega Man X: Hard Type, delivered in an .isp patch.

______________________________________________________________

***IMPORTANT NOTE***
Make a back up of the ROM before you apply the patch, in case the ROM you have is not the correspondent one (this happens often for this mod).

Most of the time that you get errors in the game (especially within the first 5 minutes you start playing), the problem will be related to a wrong ROM patched, or to what we call dirty patching (patching over an already patched file - do NOT ever do this)
***END OF IMPORTANT NOTE***

There are TWO patches included in the download. Only patch ONCE with the correspondent file:
- "1.0 - Mega Man X - Hard Type v.2.2.2 FINAL.ips" is to be applied on an UNHEADERED, Mega Man X (v1) (U) ROM.
- "1.1 - Mega Man X - Hard Type v.2.2.2 FINAL.ips" is to be applied on an UNHEADERED, Mega Man X (v1.1) (U) ROM.

______________________________________________________________

To know if your ROM has a Header or not, please check its size:

1536 KB = Unheadered
1537 KB = Rom has header

______________________________________________________________

How to remove the header of your ROM:
Open the utility tool SNESROMutil . Click Open, and select your Mega Man X (v1.1) (U) ROM. select "Remove Header", then "OK". The tool will generate a replica of the ROM, but with no header. The unheadered ROM will be IN THE SAME FOLDER AS THE ORIGINAL, with the name "[originalname]_noheader.example".

After your ROM is unheadered, how to apply the Hard Type patch:
Open the tool LunarIPS. Click on "Apply IPS Patch". Select the .ips file provided in this .zip . Then select your unheadered, Mega Man X ROM.

**To patch up Soft Type:
Same instructions as above, just apply the Soft Type patch instead of the Hard Type one. DO NOT APPLY BOTH ON THE SAME FILE.
