This is my first playthrough of 1.3, starting with content first, then I might move onto the real deal. Lost to Algus the first run because I underestimated the wizard's ability to one shot Ramza. So I started the battle again, then algus bonsai rushed me....... with an axe. Needless to say that made the battle very simple.
So i'm wondering out of curiosity, is this intentional? is Algus suppose to have a chance to spawn with a weapon that makes him easy to kill? Or does he have abilities that support using a melee weapon as well?

Well his weapon is based off of his level, so if he choose to be able to equip an axe as his support, I suppose it IS possible. Sometimes you get lucky like that. Haha. I've never seen that happen, but that's hilarious. it's rare, but it could happen. Sort of like it's possible for the archers in Riovanes castle in Vanilla to have supports ranging from Equip Axe to Two Swords. The woman on the roof loves to have that.
