Hi everyone, firstly I want to say thanks to LondonRay for this amazing work, I played the modded version of the game one year ago and it was amazing! Now I'd like to ask: because the steam version of the game will be soon availalbe are you (Londonray) considering to bring the mod to the pc release?
I really hope, the steam release will be a great chance to bring a lot of new graphical mods plus with this mod it will be amazing!
Unleashed for steam version?

No. Patches are not compatible with different consoles, nor with different versions.
The coding from each version is way too different, same with the tools available, for a complete PSX patch to be ported to PC. It won't happen.

I think it depends on a couple of main factors, the first being how much is edited in Unleashed, and if they remain consistent as far as their ports go. It is true that the versions will be different but using FF VI and VII as examples there is still similar code when it comes to things like stats, items, etc. So if that carries over when it comes to IX then I can see at least some things being able to be edited.
I would be clear in saying that doesn't mean you can just patch using the same patch but in theory as long as you can find the code in question it should be fairly similar in layout. They don't go that in depth on these ports where those core things are not similar in structure. If you are talking about item placements, maps, anything like that though then I highly doubt that can be ported over.

There's a pretty significant difference between SNES -> GBA and PSX -> PC.
Anything being moved over to PC is generally going to be different, because the nature of PC gaming is to have way higher limits to everything than consoles do.
Now, could an experienced modder go and tool around with the right tools and find it? Sure. Unleashed really doesn't change that much anyway.

What do you mean by significant? Madsiur was able to make a decent FFVI Advance editor because a lot of the core code is the same for the simple stuff, its in a different place but all that is required is a simple search for the code. The differences are mainly with dialogue and how names of things are handled. Additionally the way the game handles processing different things i.e. damage formulas for example are different because GBA is different in the way you do those things. But data for item values, equipment, spells, etc are pretty much exactly the same, just in a different place. Even enemy AI strings are largely unchanged besides specific GBA commands that don't change the core of the SNES code.
With FFVII PC it is largely the same files moved from disk to PC with a few differences in the porting process meaning that you can edit a lot of the stuff in a similar fashion.
Of course they are not 100% same and there will be differences and things that will be totally different but if how they have ported so far is an indication then I can only think it would be something similar.
I assumed Unleashed didn't change much which is where I was coming from, I can only assume if this is the case and if their previous ports are any indication, someone who knew what code was changed may be able to change the ported over code as well.

Consoles and handhelds both have significant limitations. The GBA and SNES, spec-wise, are very similar.
Comparing a PC to a console, a PC is virtually limitless because of how you can change the hardware.
That's what I mean by significant.

I was only talking about how they ported over the games. Even FFVII went from PSX to PC they really didn't change much which is why mods can be compatible with the PSX and the PC versions. You would think with all the capabilities you could utilize when porting that they could have actually utilized them...unfortunately even when FFVI was ported to PSX they couldn't even work hard enough to prevent load times when going into the menu which is crazy when you think about it. The shitty ports are pretty disappointing.
