I've been lurking for a while now and decided to finally register. I know a few folks who visit here and this looks like a nice forum.
I got a FF6 mod in (slow) progress since 2012 named FF6:Enhanced. My project aims to expand the original story with more character depth and background. I will also be a rebalanced version of the game. I'm still unsure if I want to make heavy modification to the game mechanism but I'm planning to expand items, key items and monsters. I'm also planning at least 2 difficulties (normal and hard) with different monster stats and AI scripts for each difficulty. Other things are planned for the mod but I will reveal them in time in a more appropriated thread and when progress is made.
Aside of that I created a FF6A editor. The project is on halt due to some difficulty to find some data in the advanced version.
Since a week I'm analyzing the possibility of doing a 2D RPG from scratch using the SDL library and C++. I'm analyzing if I would have time to give on two projects without greatly affecting the release of any of the two.
My native tongue is french and I live in Quebec. I got a college degree in programming (applications and web). I know python, C++, C#, ASP.NET, Java, Javascript, Jquery and I can do 65816 but I'm not the greatest ASM coder... I also have a social science college degree. I'm planning to go to university next year.
You can also find me on ff6hacking.com, slick productions and RHDN.
Well I think that covers pretty much what I wanted to say.

Wow, this is a nice surprise! I had no clue that you were coming here too! Welcome to ID!
I'm really tempted to help out on that 2D RPG that you're considering making. I think it's high time that I got off my butt and actually coded something for a personal project of some kind. Gosh dang it, what did I just post in Aura's topic not five hours ago...?

Yeah, Nattak, Madsiur, Poco Loco and Angelo are the main creators of ROTDS, with some pieces contributed by a variety of other people.

If i'm not wrong you're among those contributors... right?
I saw recently a thread in which you were recording the moment in which you created an island of ROTDS in the world map.

Yeah but I did stop my playthrough at Number024. I was atempting a LLG but let's say Lockirby is more talented in LLGs than me. I'll try to play version 1.5 and just enjoy the hack.

I did some ASM work on ROTDS, maybe 7 or 8 task, mainly the Random Offering, some ASM music changes and ASM related to sprite changes. I also did one series of events, where Shadow (or whoever replace him) can be recruited in Albrook after the Opera up to the Magitek Factory.

Yeah I'm still thinking about this one whether I should use the FFIVCC graphics or FF6 graphics. The first choice would look better but the second choice would give more freedom, since there is more sprites available and I could also use the FFIV and FFV spell animation and weapons animations. I'll try to come up with a demo where a character walks on a map with music and has an encounter. We'll see from there.
Edit: Is there a way to muliquote on this forum?

Check out FFT 1.3 as that seems to be the other big mover as far as the forum goes (not to discount any of the others by a long shot).
