Lufia 2 - Age of the Sinistrals

Noticed a couple bugs too. First....
Power Brace's description decided to enter the twilight zone. At the very least this one could be opened up. The Light Knife from Alunze Basement dungeon just resets the game and hangs if you try to check its description out of battle.
More of a query than anything...it is possible to modify a character's starting exp level so things like this don't happen? I think that's the total amount of exp (starting amount + tnl amount) to hit 17. Kinda crazy when Maxim & Tia take half as long at their current levels, heh. Not a giant deal really, but just wanted to put this out there.

Ok, that is weird... I'll check this when I get home.
Just to make sure:
you used a (U) rom?
headered or not?
Other descriptions are (so far) ok?
Which item is that one? In the rare chance we have 2 Power Brace IPs, one real and one that miracously resulted from trash.

It should be possible, but it'll require starting the game from the beginning since initial stats (incl. level and exp) are set right at the start.
Arty will have a tough time, currently he'll be stuck at his starting level for half the remaining game.
At least I should be able to check that quickly via Gift Mode.

Yes to the rom, unheadered, and so far other descriptions seem to be fine. I'll keep an eye out for any other messed up descriptions.
As for the Power Brace....it's a shield from the cave to the northwest of Alunze (the dungeon right before you go to the next town to pick up Guy). It's IP move is Spell Repel (boosts MGR).

Dunno if I'd go that far; yes compared to Gades and Amon he's "just there".
With Gades it is personal, he (probably) beat you once. Daos? Well, at least he's no Zalbak "suddenly there because" final boss.
I wanted to go with the final boss being Guard Daos, but, well, Erim's there too, so that doesn't fit 100% lorewise.
Plus I'd not a proper sprite still.

Ok, I got a save with most items in the forfeit pawn shop, so I can check.
And I get the resets too. Also from Deadly Swords, still more to check
well, I could track it down to Rainponcho's patch "Chaed_Submarine_Cave" - and away it goes...

Did you use my map fixer as well. If not, rainponcho's map fixer shouldn't work at all, anyway.

...I can probably already add this in the next version.
Cost would be simple 50% of what you have.
And all skills would be gone except Reset and Light for probably obvious reasons.
Doesn't matter if someone is currently in the party, absent or still has to join; his/herskills would be gone if this option is used. Considering how expensive the later spells are (up to 65k) this shouldn't be too attractive. For 4x 36 skill slots this will eat a huge fortune.

v0.3
-altered the old man in Merix, bottom left house, into a skill reset service; costs 50% of your gold and removes all skills except Reset and Light, even of absent party members
-altered starting exp of all heroes to be more in-line with what they should have at their increased starting levels
-removed a conflicting patch for now
dunno about the NPC right when you get to Merix the first time, I only had an endgame save to work with, so... dunno; expect it to crash?

And you know that the Pearl Brace reduces fire damage, right? As this also affects the meta-game quite a bit.

Are you sure that it should be this way?
I *think* that it is working as intended and the additional bytes are just part of the IP.
I think block/reflect IPs don't actually do anything by themselves except "activate" their item.
Either way, another thing done

However, yes, I am sure. There actually is a second error in the code so that the regular effect code also is part of the Ip code. This is how it's supposed to be (changes in bolt):
02 60 00 E2 03 70 94 04 24 28 80 00 00 13 00 5A 00 94 00 46 02 22 00
IP part:
07 27 00 00 21 00 (This sets the pointer correctly. However, this change is completely cosmetic.)
0C 2A 00 00 00
regular effect:
0C 81 2A 80
09 81 00 00 2D 00 (Change only this byte and it works as intended.)
00
42 0B 00 00

I'm not sure he should be called that here since Guard Daos is only Gades+Amon+Daos, but here is also Erim; so dunno.
I don't think I will change the Mega Shield. There's way too many attacks that are neutral so it'd be way too powerful.

And yeah, I have the same thoughts about the Mega Shield. However, there's also to consider how hard it is to get as the puzzle is really, really hard to actually solve on your own. I only did it once without guide.

Therefore she also might have no influence on the name, so Guard Daos might be okay.
Otherwise how about a more ambiguous name such as 'Deity of Doom'?

And like the original Lufia1 (US) he properly ignores the Gades side to him xD

Decided to play with the bug a little to see what was causing it. Seems to be passive abilities that trigger it.
Now, what is this bug precisely?
Yeah. Loading up from an in game save as opposed to a save state turned IP Up into Fry (yes, you can get multiple copies of Fry by going to purchase another IP Up). R-Poison turned into Zap. Haven't tried it with the passive that boosts all stats by 5. Will check that out here shortly.
And, for the record, loading up a save state is just fine. No randomly morphing skills at all.
EDIT: Ok, it's not necessarily limited to just passives. Had Armor on Tia change into Coma. All Up changed into Warp.
