Did anyone else find this dungeon really, strangely, insanely difficult? I came in around level 30 with no prior problems (if I died, it meant I had to change my strategy). However, no strategy really worked, other than fighting 2-3 battles, running, screaming, and crying back to the save point, using a Shelter, wash, rinse, repeat.

I eeked my way out on level 38... The only way I got past the Confusion plants was a berserked Crono + haste...

There was no MP-effective way to get those birds to drop the imps...

Anyway, then, Giga Gaia was a snore and I found Zeal palace insanely easy.

Maybe I screwed up - I couldn't get Lode equipment from the Nu until after Mt. WHOAAAAAAA.

This was the only part of the game where I despaired and wondered if I could finish the hack because no strategy worked... I had to purely blood-sweat-tears my way out.

What are some ways, different parties, teams, tech, equip, that you've used to get through this dungeon?

I regret not grinding more in the dino times... Because Tyrano Lair can't be re-entered, I was really forced to bite the bullet with Mt. WHOAAAAA.

I believe there is a certain strategy (maybe not using phys, or use phys+mag, such as ice sword, or just mag), but we're too attached to our vanilla way of playing and lack the creativity to try new things. That got in my way more times than I'd like to admit.

But, I believe, also, that...

Some parts are just crazy.
