For some reason, equip armor is allowing me to not equip heavy armor and shields but swords instead. Equip swords doesn't appear to change anything, etc.

There are no issues on my end. Did you patch right? Always patch to a clean vanilla. Do not patch updates over old versions or other patches, only patch to a clean copy of vanilla.

I did try patching a clean one again .before I came here With my save, it still has those issues with the abilities. I did not attempt to see if a new save would show the changes. Do you think a change to those abilities would need a new save to take effect? I DID modify a few things with the FFTpatcher, but I only used one of your patches for the .iso.

Are you using regular in game saves or save states? There are often issues with save states between updates.
Also, what exactly did you modify in Patcher? I've used a fair amount of ASM, and my Patcher file is a mess for most people to decipher...

I'm using the game saves, not save states. I'm not that dumb. XD I also tried saving and then loading again with the abilities off. Didn't work.
I'm not entirely sure If we're speaking of the same thing. In the patcher, it's easy to change many of the things in the game. I edited a few of the monsters and a few spells. That's about it. Then patched it, and it's in the game. It was immensely helpful in saving Boco. He was kicking ***. XD
Besides that, I also used the FFTorgASM to edit some of the monster PD/MD values.

If you edit the game code in any way, you're on your own if something goes wrong. Not only is it completely unnecessary/technically cheating (every story battle in the game has been beaten legitimately by at least 2 people as of this posting), but I can't be held responsible to clean up the mess if you accidentally edited something that you weren't sure what it is because of the ASM I used.
You do not need to "save boco" for Boco to join. Clicking the other option gives you a much easier battle, Boco joins anyway, and there is no permanent brave modification in this mod.

Well, I just gave a big hint that it wasn't the game code. I made a whole new one without any edits.... Anyway, I figured out what is causing it. It's the emulator itself. I was using the Xebra emulator. It somehow changes it. When I used it in ePSXe, the problem goes away.

Equip change is good enough that I don't want to give it innately to everyone, or make it not take an action. Especially in a game with much greater equipment options than vanilla. It's likely the most underrated ability to people who played too much vanilla.

Don't worry, it was a spambot. Though, part of his post had a relevant discussion (to make equip change not take an action), which, while it is feasible to do from a coding perspective (someone else already figured out the hack, and it's literally a 1 line change), would be too op in this mod. Which is why i replied to the relevant portion and deleted the spam links from the post. The account was later removed though due to being a spambot.

First time I saw that account posting, I was sure it was a spambot. Though it was more coherent than other spambots I've seen... Unless it was a human spamming on purpose.
