Hey guys!
So I'm starting a new randomizer nuzlocke (Pokemon Red) with one really important twist; every single attack in the game (including my own, opposing trainers, and wild Pokemon) will be Metronome. The only exception to this rule is HMs, however, they will only be usable in the field, and not in battle. I'm already mentally preparing myself for the pure rage I'll experience when my Metronome ends up being Self-Destruct. I'll be posting the entire series on YouTube, and each episode will include a facecam as well.
The last time I did a randomizer nuzlocke, I asked everybody on here to pick my starter for me, so I'd like to do that again. Not trying to sway opinions, but keep in mind that bulk and surviveability may be more important considering neither my opponents nor I can control what attacks we use.
My starter choices are Charmeleon, Koffing, and Arbok.
Thanks in advance for the help!

The downside to a more defensive Pokemon is that it gives you more chances to see a dreaded self-destruct. There's also the concern of running out of PP (not sure if there's a rule/hack dealing with that concern), which seemed to be a concern in the Metronome only run that I saw somebody else do. That again, I assume you are using Items (IIRC you did before) so that might not be as big a deal as it was for him.
I'm not sure it's enough to overcome the advantages of a bulky Pokemon, particularly early on when there's a decent chance of something just whipping out a move with high attack power and one-shotting your starter if it's not tanky. With that in mind I'll vote for Koffing. Typing isn't really relevant for the most part I suspect, although a 4x weakness would be bad (another reason not to use Charmeleon, assuming he even lives long enough to become a Charizard).

I'll definitely be using items. Every ether that I find will be consumed at some point, I'm sure, haha. I'll probably be making frequent trips to Pokemon Centers if I feel like I'm in any sort of danger at all, because I know how tricky the locke will be. I did a very short test run up to Vermillion City (I wanted to make sure Cut still worked, because all TMs are Metronome as well), and I didn't seem to really run into any trouble with PP quite yet, so that's a good sign.
The 4x weakness was the main reason that I was afraid of Charmeleon/Charizard, so I started to cringe a little every time one of my friends would pick him for me, haha. So far, between your vote and the few friends that I asked, it's very close between two of them, and zero votes for the third.
