This patch is a harder version of Symphony of the Night, PSX NTSC-U (slus_000.67).

This patch includes:
*300% HP of ALL Bosses, (except Dracula in prologue, you can still beat him under 1 minute). (300% HP in the Boss mod. 100% HP in the original game.)
*300% HP includes Shaft's Orb when you fight with Richter.
*270% HP of Galamoth.
*300% HP includes simple monsters like Karasuman, Lesser Demon, Slogra and Gaibon in the Inverted Castle, because they shares same HP with bosses Karasuman, Lesser Demon, Slogra and Gaibon.
- No other changes. The rest is the same as in the original.

Additional information: Be careful in the necromancy laboratory because Lesser demons very often summons demonic allies.

Boss Mod v.1.4.1:

- Added infinite Wing Smash (like in Sega Saturn version)
- Ability to restore HP in the save rooms was removed
- Ability to restore MP in the save rooms was removed
- Decreased HP for Lesser demons from 300% to 250%. In the original they have 400 HP. In this mod they have 400 * 250% = 1000 HP.

- Increased time of items disappearing , from 5 to 8 seconds (except for hearts, money, sub-weapons). In the original, item after 4 seconds starts to blink, then item blinks for ~1 second, which gives totally 5 seconds. In this mod, item after 4 seconds starts to blink, then item blinks for 4 seconds, which gives totally 8 seconds.

Note: Update to v.1.4.1 - an error was corrected, due to which the infinite "Wing Smash" did not work on pSX 1.13. Please, download again. And make patch over the untouched version of the game.

That's what I lacked in the SOTN, the more powerful bosses. I made this patch for myself, but maybe this patch can be useful to someone.

Tried it until after the first boss. Then died. Thanks for this. I'll probably play it in conjunction with the luck cheat and a perpetual level 1 mod. Will probably use it a lot from now on. Especially so since I'm looking to develop a sort of combo focused combat style in the game. Which more boss hp is excellent for. I dislike the restrictions sotn hardtype put on the game like removing spells or weapons instead of nerfing them so I'm glad this exists.

He also uploaded hardtype 1.0 version, where the only changes: altered all enemies.
Don't buy boss tactics from librarian. In the boss tactics, bosses have 300% HP too.
Or if you want it buy, but after 5-15 seconds when boss tactics begins, push start button. (better save your game progress, before buying boss tactics from librarian. Hardtype version also have this.)
If someone will tell me, that simple monsters like Karasuman and Lesser demons (not bosses) are very hard to beat, then I can decrease their HP from 300% to 200%, but it will also change the HP of Bosses Karasuman and Lesser demon.

You should also be prepared for some bosses, (something like) buy some potions from librarian, before boss fight. Or you have to learn the tactics (not from librarian) of how to defeat the boss.

I've had this idea for a while now but I want to play sotn like devil may cry. With combos and stuff and doing combat exhibitions. So to do this I downloaded a max level, all items, all relics, all equips at the beginning of the game save, and hacked my stats back to 1.

I would like even lower stats but the weapons inately have some attack power that I can't get rid of. As of now I've only tested it on 1 boss but personally I think their hp should be even higher, of course I have this playstyle in mind, and want to take it a step further. How do you feel about this idea, and would you be willing to make a version that supports this playstyle? If not, would you mind teaching me how you did it?

Because you have all relics form the start of the game, even 1000 HP would be not enough, because Alucard are very powerful in that moment of the game. And I think game don't supports more than 32500 HP to any monster, that's why Galamoth has 12000 x 270% = 32400 HP in my mode.

Also, do you think it's possible to copy knockback effects like the one on slogra to other enemies and make it re-activate with every hit even if they are already in that knock back state?

I think sotn might have some amazing combat potential if enemies would just react to getting hit. That together with hp changes would provide a fresh breeze for the sotn community perhaps.

You can change HP of Gaibon and Slogra to 32000. And if this not enough, you can increase their defense, but I don't know maximum value for defense.

I don't know. You can ask it to creator of the Hardtype version, If he will respond. But not all monsters have animations of knockback effect.

Detailed description:

Added infinite Wing Smash (like in Sega Saturn version) - for those, who wants to fly through many rooms in the castle.

Ability to restore HP in the save rooms was removed - Now, you can not Infinitely restore Alucard's HP. Because of this function any Hard mod will be very easy. So, now mod can be called something like: Boss survival mode.
Ability to restore MP in the save rooms was removed - Now, you can not Infinitely restore Alucard's MP.
Ankh of Life and Bloodstone are a little more useful now.

So, now you can restore Alucard's HP only with: Dark metamorphosis, Food, Soul Steal, HP potions and HP Max up potions.
And, you can restore Alucard's MP only with: Manna prism.
Money and Mystic pendant are more useful now.
