Hi Sega! I cant seem to get it right with the exe optional patch, tried re-installing FF7 and different folders in the FF7 main folder but nothing works. It says that it can not find the files to patch when i try.

EDIT: The .EXE Patch was supposed to be accompanied by a scene.bin patch to reflect some changes to Materia equip effects: https://mega.co.nz/#...IIYxtrmjUiIHROM

Hey all, the .EXE installer has been updated with the following changes:

-) Corrected glitchy Bonuses/Penalties on the Summon tier for the 1998 .EXE

-) Revised all the Bonuses/Penalties

-) Updated Installer text to list correct installation method

In other news, I'm working on updating the Readme & Database. I've also got my eye on giving the Beginner's Hall in Sector 7 + Junon a bit of work so that it includes actual training battles to show some of the mechanics and workings of certain statuses, attacks, etc. I also need to include info on the Rank Up system in there.

\\NT News: Main Installer Updated - 17th August 2015//

Roughly once a month, I update the Main Installer to include all the Hotfixes and 'wipe' the Hotfixes themselves out to keep things from getting cluttered. Some quick fixes were made prior to putting the new installer together:

-) Adjusted target coordinates when choosing 'not ready' at entrance to Dark Cave; should hopefully be safer and prevent players getting trapped
-) Added handler for Dark Cave Countdown hitting 0 but not triggering Game Over
-) Fixed a Wrong Jump in Midgar Raid

If I've missed anything, let me know.

Some modifications were made to the installer to fix some issues; the Materia Caves should no longer cause a soft-lock when the boss is defeated there, I changed the effect of the Countdown hitting 0 during the Dark Cave sidequest, and made some other general revisions such as tweaking text boxes, adding in missing things like Dio giving you Organics if you clear Battle Square for the keystone, etc.

So to my understanding, i need to pay for the Steam version or PC version to play this mod right? Or is there another way to play it?

It's really better to just fork over the $12 for the Steam version. From there you can just run the updater.

The older version -- which you can pirate -- has a lot of issues with compatibility and such.

I may wait until it goes on a sale if I do the Steam version and just have it shared b/c i know the other person wants to have the vanilla version. We'll see.

Actually will the PC version work using the legit copy?

The link for the ''Item Database'' seems to be down, I don't exactly need it but I did want it as a sort of check list, any chance you could update it?

Loving the mod so far by the way. :thumbsup:

Edit: I patched up the file with the most recent hotfix and it seemed to go fine with no problems, so this may not be a bug but I want to confirm it.

I seem to remember materia like Added Effect / Elemental giving STR before patching with the hotfix and now it gives (Dex - 02) is this how its supposed to be? or do I need to repatch?

I think some of the effects were changed slightly to be used with the Mk.2 EXE.

Also @CrazyClown: The .EXE patch is always optional, the scene patch just alters the HP/MP arcs. Actually, both could be considered optional.

A new issue popped up for the Dark Cave sidequest; one of the triggers for a later scene wasn't activating for whatever reason: http://www.mediafire...tember_2015.zip

That patch should clear it up. As ever, apply it to the game's data folder.

I'm using the version from a few years back from square store. I updated to 1.35 and everything was running smoothly.

I wanted the custom.exe file which I downloaded and updated the folders in the correct directory. However now when I click play from the Square Enix launcher it loads up steam and brings up the FF7 page (which I obviously haven't purhcased).

I went through the files nothing to do with steam anywhere, I don't know why its doing it.

Noticed no entry for SS Mine under items. Also description for Hero Drink II doesn't really tell me what it does, neither here nor in game. (Can induce unique effects on certain monsters)

Any chance of adding where the enemy could be found on the Enemy Skill entries?
