STORY
Sarasaland has been in peace for some time after the alien Tatanga's defeat by the hands of Mario. Much of the land has changed since then. Gone are the moai heads of Easton. Birabuto, once a great desert, is now just a small valley of sand. Muda has turned into a tropical resort while Chai is now covered with a blanket of eternal snow and ice. However, the evil King Bowser has come to Sarasaland to cause major trouble. His true intentions are unknown, but it has been reported that he has some kind of secret device that will wreak all sorts of havoc to his liking. Princess Daisy, Sarasaland's princess, contacts the only one who she knows can help: Mario. So he naturally rushes to her aid. But Princess Peach also wants in on some of the action, and so she decides to tag along and help instead of waiting back home at Mushroom Kingdom. And maybe she may get some retribution on Bowser for kidnapping her so many times.


OBJECTIVE
Travel through the transformed areas of Easton, Birabuto, Muda, Chai and more as Mario and Peach gather 64 stars scattered throughout Sarasaland. When they have all 64 stars, they can challenge Bowser in the final level. Secret exits are in some levels; including warp zones and item houses to help out the duo during the journey.


FEATURES
Classic Mario gameplay basically; you'll experience a mix of the classic Mario gameplay of SMB2, SMB3 & SMW, with those old-school SMB sound effects from back in the day. Peach plays the exact same as in SMB2. Levels are set up Yoshi's Island style; 8 levels in each world, a mid-boss in each fortress level, and a koopa kid boss in each castle level. There are 8 worlds total. Yoshi can be found in at least one level in each world. Also, there is a two-way warp system, so players can warp around Sarasaland and complete levels in any sort of order. You can return to earlier worlds if you can find a reverse pipe. The only exception is World 1 since there is no reverse pipe there.

There are also five battle levels that you can play and challenge an opponent on.


LEVELS
Most levels are classic Mario levels, ranging from hills to caves to water levels, athletic levels, forest levels and more. There are a few theme-based levels; there is a Kirby based theme level, as well as a Mario Kart "Rainbow Road" theme level (the screens are above) as well as some gimmick levels (there is a gimmick level like DKC2's Toxic Tower, for instance) to spice things up. The game uses music from various Mario titles, and a few from other titles, like Kirby and Metroid. About 80-85% of it is from Mario titles, though.


DISCLAIMER
This game comes with its own version of SMBX; this is because every level in the game uses music not already found in default version of SMBX. So the download size is going to be pretty large. Also, this game is on the difficult side, so be careful. If you have a gamepad or controller of some sort, you might want to use it.
