Insane Difficulty: Motor Ball? - Insane Difficulty

7 hours in and I'm probably fucked.

I saved right before the motorcycle sequence, so I'm pretty sure I can't level up right now. My characters range between 12-14. Have barely grinded up to this point, all natural leveling. Rufus was a relatively easy fight, the elevator fight wasn't so much, I got a few game overs there.

He's absolutely destroying my team, I can't survive two attacks from him even in the back row. I can't give anyone sadness because I can't buy tranquilizers at the Shin-Ra item shop.

I tried using the accessories you get (Protect vest, sprint shoes, etc) but it doesen't help, I'm forced to sandbag until he uses Twin Flames or whatever it is and drops everyone.

Did anyone else have issues with this battle?


edit: Whoa, I didn't know Back Attack reverses row. Interesting.

Use elemental + fire in carbon bangle to reduce fire damage if you got the elemental materia in ShinRa building. Fury Aeris for increaed healing wind. Cast bolt and throw grenades when not curing. The double arm attack will require a pheonix down followed by immediate cure. Tough battle. I died a few times.

I just dled the mod so I cant say for sure about the hardcore version but I recently had this problem in the regular game (I was playing a No Materia No Items game) and you can run back down the shinra building via the staircase to the 65th floor where there are enemies that are slightly easier than the ones on the upper floors. You can still fight monsters in the staircase so losing your keycards doesn't matter. This is the best place to lvl a few times.

My bad, I read it too fast and thought you were stuck on the elevator boss. I suppose the Title of your post should have tipped me off >.>
