1. Open FFTPatcher
2. Open original ISO file
3. Save patch (or Save as PSP patch)
4. Apply 1.3 patch of your choice
5. Open saved patch file
6. Patch ISO without any options in boot.bin but select all ENT options instead
7. Select patched ISO and hit OK

Now you get vanilla fights with patched 1.3 mechanics and items.

For some built-in character stats, it will still have it like early chapter having reraise on some units. It took me a long while to clear prolouge chapters. Quite annoying when the rest move up on their own with random abilities. Sometimes they keep spamming speedsap instead of attacking and angrias is healer. WTF lol.

But over all it's much easier and more manageable. You get Vanilla fights with 1.3 mechanics. I've been dreaming for this and realized recently that I can just drop story events into 1.3 and enjoy the ride.

Well, of course it's easier. You're making Content even easier by using vanilla formations instead of the ones planned for Content (which are already a toned-down version of actual 1.3). Not to mention the 1.3 for the PSP version is inconsistent enough to be called easier than the PSX version of 1.3, overall. So... yeah, no wonder why it's easier.

Don't get me wrong, though. You're free to play how you want (needless for me to say so), but it's just no surprise it's "easier". Once you revert anything back to how it used to be in vanilla, you're making it easier because... well, vanilla.

Lol, that sounds like the most stupid, boring thing to olay. The vanilla formations are one of the main reasons to actually play a mod. I can't even imagine why anyone would do that, because at that point you'd be playing kid mode.

Well, I expect some unhappy comments to make supposed hard things easier for casual run. But believe me, many people want new refreshing contents and improvements without making the game too much harder. Event formation maybe the same but the mechanics, character traits and other improvements is still making the game more challenging and actually more fun than vanilla version.

For example, I can just make Ramza walking around in prologue and the game will end in few turns. But in this version, depending on mods you're using, the game is progressing much longer. Changes in equipment/skills/jobs/items/etc. is still giving a new life while giving some more challenges comparing to Vanilla version.

It may look stupid for some die hard fans but this project is long gone for few years already. At least allow me to dig up something that could give replay values for casual run, OK?

Nope, it's not okay. Because the modder put his hard work on this mod to make a difficulty mod, and you're screwing all over it. Have you seen the name of the site you're on? Insane Difficulty. What do you think will happen if you take the most played mod around here, with the most amount of plays, and do this?

If you want a casual run, content is right there for the download. If you want to be more casual than that, then it will not be here.

Do you even know what you're talking about? Roughly 50% of the balance of a tRPG comes hand by hand with the enemy formations. It's one of the most important things in play. Doesn't matter how refined the skillsets are, a tRPG will be shitty casual (like what you're trying to share here), or it will be a tremendous experience, depending on the enemy teams. From there on, other balance factors come into play, but enemy formations? That's gotta be as polished as it can be.

Do you really think that's all it takes to make it more enjoyable? Because that's too simplistic. It's not even about reducing difficulty anymore, but what you call "balance" is still a broken bunch of stuff that you haven't addressed in the slightest. Again, you can have fun with it all you want and you can enjoy it all you want, but with such lazy course of action, I'm afraid this sense of balance you speak of (that's not even there but you don't want to "break") is still far off, and you're definitely not fixing anything; it's just you playing with the patcher, putting underwhelming vanilla formations instead of analyzing the existing ones and figuring out how they could feel more fair to the player while remaining a good challenge (reverting back to vanilla ways is generally a bad idea, because vanilla is broken af), but as Hart said, this is only a small part of everything else that needs to be revised.

Don't mock us; we're here for the challenge and design, not to make training wheels easier to handle. Play the shit out of what you made, enjoy it, perhaps shsre it with people who share your vision, but don't expect quorum on a difficulty-oriented and design-oriented community. You're free to start over, do something else with it, and not use 1.3's name in it. We can help you with that, if you really want to make something.

You're doing two things here.

On the one hand, you're showing us how you simoly don't get the concept of a mod being a project, with the final product being a sum of its parts. Ergo you're oversimplifying what it means to make a good, enjoyable mod. So, you simoly don't have a clue on what good design means.

On the other hand, you're disrespecting the work done by the modders. They've spent years on their projects. Actual years. And you come with a magical solution done in less than a week (less than an hour) and you're trying to defend it. Welp. You had better start over, and this time actually work on a mod. And not only that - You make a mod saying "X patch released"? Now you're effectively stealing someone else's mod in the very site they host it. I'll leave that idea speak for itself.

Look, it's just that the changes made to the jobs and to the enemy formations were designed to work together...it's not just about being more difficult, it's about being more difficult while rewarding smart playing, and that took work on the developer's part.

You just discarded half of that as if it was completely irrelevant, and that's pretty bad form towards the work done.

Also, lazy. No one will oppose you for making a "mod of a mod" (see Think's stuff on BNW), as long as you're respectful and smart about it.

I just want to take leisure playing old tactics casually after spending months on clearing Fire Emblem games at harder difficulties. Maybe it was presumptuous of me to think some people may want to have 1.3 with vanilla fights here. Sorry for sharing this then.

Also, it's not like I find 1.3 impossible to beat. I did clear a few hard SRPG games and it's doable with effort and strategies. I don't want to go through all that 1.3 stuff again after forgetting it for years and decide to take a breather making casual run version. Except replacing units and positioning, all characters still have all stuff as before like having reraise and such. It's still challenging though being less than original.

And calling someone stealing is quite offensive. I posted guide in here before and just make things easier with a single patch. I also gave credits to original workers in another thread. Blame PPF Studio for not allowing to make longer sentence. I gave proper credits in my own post without trying to claim as my own work.

No, see, even with the class changes if by chapter 4 you're still fighting knights and archers and knights and archers all with item, it already has zero in common with 1.3. It'sd not about challenge as a scale, but rather about how it is presented. If you mix two parts of entirely different designs, chances are what you'r eleft with doesn't make any sense.

That's the problem with what you did here, you didn't steal something, You butchered it right in front of its family.

Dude, it's fine. You do it, you play it. It's for your own sake; personal, private fun. Just don't expect much approval because you're giving it a twist which goes completely out of scope of what we do here.

Also, that's why your thread's title was edited to say "unendorsed"; cool, you credited it, but did any of the creators support your changes? Have you even talked to them? I don't think anyone has given any kind of approval for you to do this so blatantly.
