What's changed from v1 to v2?
Level changes:
The following stages have been completely redesigned, from scratch:
-Highway (Intro) Stage
-Chill Penguin
-Storm Eagle
-Sting Chameleon
-Boomer Kuwanger
-Launch Octopus
-Armored Armadillo
The following stages have been revised and polished:
-Spark Mandrill
-Flame Mammoth
-Sigma Stages
The design of the new stages shows how different this version is from v1. Mobility, speed and dynamics have been taken into consideration, allowing X to move more freely and evade more enemies. The bosses arenas have also been tweaked in order to be in pair with the enhanced AI.
AI Changes:
In v1, only the bosses in each Sigma stage had enhanced AI. For v2, all enemies in the game, including bosses, minibosses and regular enemies throughout the stages have had their AI enhanced and rebalanced, making them more responsive and / or faster. Some bosses also do not flinch anymore after being hit.
Other Changes:
-The HP of each enemy has been rebalanced from scratch. It generally looks a lot more similar to vanilla now. The damage done by each single attack in the game has been rebalanced as well.
-Initial HP is back to 16, each heart upgrade is back to +2HP.
-The Body Upgrade now reduces damage by 25% instead of 50%.
-Some weapons had their speed rebalanced.
-Neon Jumps available after grabbing the Arm Capsule.
-Death Counter in the Pause Screen.
-Custom Title.
-Release of Mega Man X: Soft Type, patch with all of the changes but the level redesigns!
So yeah. As said above, v2 is currently on a state of bugfixing. It could take as along as half a day or as long as the whole weekend- I don't estimate more than that, but anything could happen with these things.
