i am trying to get the patch working with RetroArch's beetle-psx core. after loading the patched game, it gives me a "bad sector? - 239319" error

I'm going to assume that "RetroArch's beetle-psx core" is another patch. You never patch over a patched ISO/ROM unless you know for a fact they'll work together. Usually they won't and you'll get stuff like this.

anyways, i'm trying to dig a bit deeper into this bad sector 239319 error.
i'm thinking to either modify the patch or maybe modify the source code of mednafen-psx to avoid the error.

It works. It works well. People use it.
I haven't seen Landon post in months, despite posts on the subforums of his own projects, so I think it's safe to say that he doesn't frequent the forums anymore (though it wouldn't surprise me if he stopped in every so often just to take a look).

advent: i would rather not get into an off-topic debate on why accurate emulation is important. there are many reasons beyond the scope of speedrunning. i have no interest in discouraging people from using epsxe. i don't really care what people use (i used to use it 10 years ago lol). but look into retroarch. it has outstanding a/v sync and shader support as well as many other features. no need to fiddle with buggy and unsupported closed-source plugins anymore

this is nuts !!!!
i mean.. the only way to survive fighting against Elly and gank before fighting vanderkaum's fleet is CHEAT..
always below 1 k hp before i fight the girl... i can't grind till deathblow 3(max lvl 2 DB) because enemy's experience is to low. but overall,this is pretty good game. just want you to balance this place and kislev sewer. the HORROR is real.

Just spot that version i play all the way is 2.0 and im at sea travel chapter (after Thames), so im thinking about upgrading to 3.0.
Hope i won't break anything by doing so, will i?
Also im playing undub version, can anyone confirm those version fully compatible with HardType mod, i mean won't undub overwrite some key gameplay data, again like enemy stats or equip? So far it seems like it's not, but who knows...

As far as the Undub version goes, if you apply the patch to the original version and then convert it to the Undub version, it should work (assuming the Undub version was designed correctly, which I believe it was). If you apply the patch directly to the Undub version it should not work.

Then i switch to 3.0 version without starting new game, lv ups bonuses seems kinda random, so i don't think it majorly affect my gameplay.
Gebler and Elly fight was like Endurance and patience test, which i really liked a lot. Everything so far seems pretty well balanced to me, yet Goliath Factory and both Xaishao fights ended pretty quick (Fis 6 died right after overheat).
Wanted to ask another question if i may - it's about ether doublers, did they fixed somehow or Ether doubler + pair of power magics still can break the game with OP damage? I clearly don't want to use cheap methods and i rather don't have them at all.
I played all your hard mods (exept for xenosaga) and really enjoy them all, specially FFVIII 'n FFIX, thank you :-)

I'm going to start a play-through shortly to make sure everything is as I want it.
Even if you've never play Xenosaga 3, I'd recommend giving that mod a try. It's the best one I've made.

Xenosaga trilogy is on my playlist just after xenogears, i remember you point it out somewhere about Xenosaga ep.3 being best of your mods and so i am very interested in playing it in conclusion, best piece of pie for the last :-)

Did you change elemental on tolone and seraphita in some way? They kinda annihilate my party in first turn (two scripted mass spells) with Fire and Wind rings equiped (on Citan and Elly) and Ether Veiler (on billy). I somehow manage to survive and win this battle after some experiments and i don't know if im wrong or something else, but i did win this battle after equip water and earth rings on Citan and Elly and unequip Veiler from Billy (he still dead after first turn but it wasn't problem with some Zetasouls, and it seems he received slightly less damage without Veiler), which is pretty odd, cause those rings supposed to decrease fire and wind protection ^^. I may be wrong somewhere, just curious. Sadly, i did overwrite savefile after win and can't repeat this battle to make sure.
By the way this and Id battles were pretty cool, forcing me to act with caution!
