Spoiler
Started the game, jamming to its music, as I always do, and decide to make a character using Knives, since that's a thing I don't normally do. Go into town, get the Jade Egg, and head into there first. First encounter I came across, I approached it the same as I always would, which is run up to the enemies and just wail on them. I quickly die in 3 hits. So I think to myself "Jeez, positioning and defense are gana be pretty dang important here". So for the rest of that dungeon, I had to fight in a way I didn't normally, so it was pretty awesome. It was literally game changing. I get to the boss, and he too 3 shots me, and dodging a bosses attacks is usually harder than dodging regular enemies(Besides the whole run into a corner when they use special attacks bit), so it was pretty refreshing. He killed me twice. Now, I didn't go into the store to buy any aditional armor, so I went and did that and headed back to test the damage, and the enemies only killed me in 4 hits that time. Still pretty good. I went and talked to Nicolo, and got his quest rolling, and the enemies at the Highway were 3 shotting me now. The boss there killed me 3 times.

Here's my thoughts on your changes:
Spoiler
-First thing you notice is of course the change in the movement speed. Added along with how much damage the enemies do, it makes positioning REALLY crucial, so I thought it was pretty good. However, the ground you cover with Techniques is the same, so lunging and jumping can be abused to cover some huge ground and get to safety really easy(Like when I was clearing the weeds for the Mana Orchard quest. those weeds were wrecking my face, but I had Crouch and Jump on so I can learn High-jump and double jump. I could distance myself with a comboed High-Jump and use Crouch to heal myself.
-Second thing, as stated above; the enemies damage. In the vanilla game, lvl 1 with just the hauberk they start you in, you're basically a mammoth tank. Enemies always do such little damage to you. Being 3 shotted in the first mission because I didn't suit up first was pretty awesome.
-Third thing was the hitstun changes. Not being able to lock an enemy down with delayed light attacks is good, but I think this change makes spamming heavy attacks more of a priority. Sure, light attacks will dizzy the enemy if you hit them enough, but since the enemies do so much damage now, you're likely to die trying to do this, so you need some kind of disable and you rely on the knockback of the heavy attack. One attack that is especially effective now is the down-diagonal power attack, which is chainable. You can still lock an enemy down with it and kill it with ease, even bosses. Perhaps there's a way to reduce the effectiveness of heavy attacks, so you have a reason to still use light-attacks? Maybe buff some aspect of light attacks instead?
-Fourth thing was the death screen. Like you said before, having to wait forever for your companion to finish the fight, or for your HP to regen took WAY too long. This 'Continue/Title screen' change is a really good one.
