Should ultima be nerfed? In my honest opinion I think so. Why? Well peach already gets really good equipment not long after she joins the party. As soon as you get her you can grind until you get ultima, and it does more damage then 500attack mario or bowser with double turns...on a single turn. Peach IS the best member of the party and can even take quite a lot of punishment without the lazy shell. You don't ever have to use any of her other spells besides the fight with the doomcake if you use her then. Peach op lol, what if at the very least ultima consumed 1-3 fp off the maximum amount as well as take 30 of current fp to use?

Out of curiosity, which do you think is more OP in the v9 beta: Ultima or double turns?

While I'm at it.... what do you think of the Demon Mail?

double turns was more OP by far i mean think about it....... 2 ultimas in 1 turn is more painful than 1

plus ultima is famous for being a powerful spell so by rights it should hit hard

as for the demon mail i personally preferred the demon mail/demon mail+ from v8 over their v9 counterparts, but thts just my personal insight on it

I'd say ultima and I know longsword disagrees and leans more on the side of double turns but think about it like this. The daisy ring halve elements, blocks mortal blows while also blocking the things that kinda kept double turns in check, status effects. Status effects are the main reason I don't ever use double turns on her because you need that ultima at full power and uninterrupted against the late game bosses. This one accessory frees up options for her to wear any good armor that does not protect against status and deathblows which is a weakness that everyone else has until you get something like the demon mail+ and even then you'll take some heavy magic damage. Ultima has remained the best source of damage output and has saved my ass plenty of times in the game lol. That's my issue though, I have to rely mostly on ultima for my battles and hope that I'm lucky enough to use a regular strike if my secondary damage dealer is not either dead or under some status.

Interesting. You just pointed out a bunch of the issues that will hopefully be balanced in v9.

By the way, neither of you mentioned the most broken aspect of double turns: attacking and defending at the same time. What do you think of that?

Meteor is pretty much worthless and I would hate ultima to meet the same fate.It would make the game much more time consuming(not that the game needs to be beaten in a fast amount of time but I just feel geno has become pretty worthless now that meteor is worthless.When I use found illusion wtih meteor is still worthless so it is not a timing issue.For geno his geno whirl hurts most enemies more than meteor does.

Well geno's not too bad, he can do alright damage and he can buff + full heal one of his teammates with geno boost. I use him as my tank with double turns for the most part. Meteor was hit pretty hard though but what I'm asking here is to make it so ultima isn't the best way to deal damage to bosses.

sorry for the double post above and yes the one reason I do use geno for is his geno boost.Without geno boost I feel he would be pretty darn worthless.Also once u beat magnus and schala you get a double turn accessory for peach. I would argue vs the top god bosses double turns are needed for blocking.

You still need to hold Y for meteor even if you are using Found Illusion. Found Illusion only helps you for timing hits, not joystick nor hold nor pressing all buttons attacks.

But, still, his Meteor is just not useful anymore. It seems Dark Star is better than Meteor Now.

I want to add that i liked the previous Geno Whirl with his fixed 9999 damage. It used to be more balanced because you could use it as a quick emergency for a single strong enemy with a decent fp cost

personally i think if double turns were to stick around make it a 1-time only obtinable item like the schala's ring/angel's tiara and have it follow the same guidelines where so long as its either equipped or in your inventory you cant fight the boss that dropped it......
