It's been a long time coming, but the official sequel to I Wanna Be The Guy, arguably one of the hardest games ever made, has finally arrived. Get ready to smash your fist into your monitor and buy replacement keyboards, because I Wanna Be The Guy: Gaiden has just been released.

The game is not 100% finished, but there's 3 fully playable levels, which means this release will work similar to the first game, and will evolve and improve with feedback from the community. IWBTG: Gaiden follows the story of "The Lad", a new character, who is apparently on a quest to find The Kid and The Guy, main characters from the first game.

Kayin, the game's developer, says progress to fully finish IWBTG: Gaiden might be slow, as other projects and interests may occupy his time, but that there's new content on the way. He says that he will be "playing it by ear", which is really OK with us, as a true sequel to IWBTG is something we've been wanting to see for a long time. Check out some gameplay of it here:

I watched the entire Floe run on stream and I was dying laughing.

I'm so playing this game. x]

The original IWBTG was such a learning experience for me. I can't wait to see what the sequel has in store!
