Okay huh. I'm still unable to reproduce this. What all patches have you used? I thought for sure it might be a combo of the original item names and alt. font but it doesn't seem to be.

Maybe if all else fails you can send me that ROM so I can compare the data and hopefully find out what is causing this to happen.

EDIT: Found it! It's actually the Esper Restrict patch =/ I see it also makes the Spirit (Rage) menu not work, it just exits out instead... I'll take a look at the code but I'll probably have to seek help from Synchysi for this.

So, it doesn't really impact the gameplay then? Just the displays on the menus?

An issue that's probably my fault, but during the boss fight on spiral mountain, the combo is [right right down left], isn't it? I honestly tried it with both my controller and the keyboard for about a half hour (as well as some variations), and couldn't get it to work. Is the actual combo different than what the text says, or do I need to do something special to make this work?

It should still be the same. I compared the Combo's from 1.5.5 to 1.6.1 and it's the same thing.

I had stolen a pair of claws from said boss and equipped them on Ronan once his part of the battle came up. This apparently stopped the combo from working at all, because once I unequipped the claws, I entered the combo exactly as I did 100 times before, but it actually worked this time! Not sure if this was unintended or not, but it's there!

Ultros is brutal--seems slightly unfair how many attacks he gets each turn, even if he is an octopus.

So, has the but with the exp display tnl in menus for different difficulties been fixed yet and the patch updated? I've been having a desire to record boss fights from the Insane difficulty version, but I wanted all the little bugs to be sussed out first before I began.

Not quite yet, but the issue is being worked on as we speak! It's something simple most likely but it's being one of those things that's refusing to get fixed. Madsiur is working on it in his spare time today so hopefully this weekend there will be an update.

Thanks for taking my suggestion for the scaling on MP critical hits ( and credit to Syn as well)!

Easy Mode sounds great, I personally have not been able to complete past versions without abusing Turbo mode for level grinding, and there were several bosses in my Walkthrough (an unavoidable encounter when Avalon is berzerk at the base and Olbohn in the phantom train) that I simply could not break past without using cheats, gave them each 10 or so tries before resorting to that.

I will probably continue the walkthrough on easy mode when I get time again

I'm excited to try the Rune Blade and other items I normally wouldnt touch this time!

May I ask, whats the scaling between casual standard and hard modes? like 20%?
