Is it possible in chat to only show the characters that are actually sent when we post something longer than usual? As is, it's quite hard to tell if the whole thing went through or not.

When you post a message in chat that's above the character limit, your message gets cut off for everyone in chat but you. So, you never know if your message got through to everyone in full.

I think that technically speaking the character limit for the chat box you type in and the character limit for the messages that get sent through the chat are not the same.

Ok I think I understand now.
This is intentional. The chat is for shorter, frequent messaging. Not for huge walls of text. Long blocks of text will spam up the chat.
While the editor field itself can hold a ton of characters, when you hit "POST MESSAGE" it will only display a limited number of characters.

Yes, the character limit itself is perfectly understandable and should stay. I was just hoping it's possible to only display to the sender exactly what gets through. If I were to post an 800-page manifesto on the chat for whatever reason, it would all show up on my end, rather than just the first 2 paragraphs etc.
