Hello everyone!
In the Insane Directory on the forums we have an area that we plan to place forums for game specific discussions of challenges, speedruns and the like. There are currently only boards for Diablo 2, Disgaea 1 and 2, Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, so we need your ideas of what you would like to see added! Is there a game that you've completed challenges for? Games that you know are challenging? Or maybe a game that you'd like to start a challenge with and would like to talk about with members?
Hoping to see some great ideas!

Has anyone ever played the original Prince of Persia? I think they may have released it for several systems, but I've played it on the NES and it is ri-damn-diculously hard. All of it is timing your jumps and sword swipes correctly, all the while trying to solve the maze of the palace in under ten minutes. The precision required by the jumps in I wanna Be The Guy reminded me of that game, only you don't die every time you miss a jump. It's more like you're penalized for falling too short, and you lose time while the Prince has to climb up the ledge.
I would have started a new thread in the P subforum, but creating threads is locked. I assume you'd rather not clutter up the lettered subforums with a ton of threads, but that might be a good way to get the whole forum off the ground. People start a thread for a particular game, and if it becomes popular or spawns more threads, you can move the topic into it's own dedicated subforum. You also won't have an empty game forum when you create it.
I understand it's a work in progress, but I just think the forum would look better if it weren't as sparse as it is now. It'd also be easier to browse. Another thing you could do is group all the letters together at first until certain letters can stand on their own (like F).
Just some thoughts. It's up to y'all.

What do you mean by sparse? Wouldn't it be the same if the letters weren't there at all?

By sparse I mean empty. And no, I don't think it would be the same as if the letters weren't there at all. There isn't an easy way to tell which letters have games in them right now, is there? I also can't think of any games that begin with the letter "Q" that are also difficult (but granted, I'm kinda dumb, so there could be lots). I just think that if we opened it up to let people make posts for their favorite difficult games in broad subforums such as, "A-E". I also think it'd be easier on you and Kresna if you could just look at the interest in different games when determining which games to make threads for.
For example, if we were able to make our own threads in the larger forums, I could upload a video of myself failing miserably at Battletoads. Or I could start a thread saying, "Hey, I'm gonna try and beat the original Zelda with three hearts, here we go!" and have video progress of that. Then either you or Kresna could see the interest in the game and if a handful of other topics were created about the same game, you could create the distinct subforum. I think that'd be easier for everyone.

I'd like to put my coin here for RPG Maker XP games. Some RPGs, such as Master of the Wind are classic RPGs that are VERY hard. Not insanely hard, but hard nonetheless and some parts are very difficult.

I was discussing it with Kresna and we want to have each game have it's own landing page, with links to it's board, a difficulty meter, challenges available for it, and difficulty mods available for it

That sounds great arch. You should actually make a difficulty meter (like a speedometer or something), each game would be a separate image, but you get the idea.
If you need any help I'd love to pitch in.

Yeah I do
How would you go about coding a difficulty meter that runs based on votes?
