Glitched accessory steal from secret bosses

So, I just beat the HP/MP switch boss in the materia cave after many tries!!

Almost every time I stole from him, I stole an accessory that spit out a bunch of garbage with glitched letters that look like the ALT+0123 ASCII kind of characters.

One time I stole a Megalixir.

The time I beat him, I changed my materia setup and forgot to re-equip steal, so I could not re-steal the mystery accessory and see what the stats were.

The Mime and Quadra Magic bosses only held Megalixirs for me to steal.

Has anyone encountered this glitch? Is it a legit accessory?

I will eventually load another save and try again, but killing him took an hour. :wallbash:

Plus the time spent on all those other battles where I died...

There was a flaw in the Alpha build of the 'Proud Clod' (PRC) enemy editing tool where steal flags wouldn't be set properly under certain circumstances. This would lead to bugged items being stolen (they'd appear as an accessory with 'default' values so likely no effect but can be sold for the maximum amount of gil possible). I'd recommend giving steal a pass for that fight, just to be on the safe side.

I realized I overwrote all my saves (both memory card and state save) during and after the battle, so there was no way for me to go back and try to win it again. :wallbash:

During one of the fights, I managed to steal a megalixir, so it was likely that glitch.

I got so excited and thought it was a secret uber accessory! Oh well, back to doing things the hardtype way.
