It could be an add-on you may have or something that or malware/spyware of the sort that may be causing your issue. If it is only effecting chrome than more than likely the issue is not the site but chrome itself.

I'm loading the site on Chome via 5 different cpu's now (6 if you count work) and I can't replicate the issue

it has to be something your chrome picked up

fixed... i removed 2 addons:
tweetdeck (probably not it)
bfix (dont know where this came from... probably porn?)
