I'm getting frustrated running around in circles because I can't figure out how to get Shadow in Kohlingen. I can find gear for him in Jidoor but I spent a few minutes trying to get him to say anything besides "Go away". Am I supposed to be able to get him now?

You can't put him in your party if it already contains four members. Go back to Narshe and get another party with only three members. Note that Shadow will only stick around until the end of Zozo.

On another note, 2 days in and I love this game. I was enjoying up until the Kefka fight in Narshe, at which point I was totally hooked. I was very unprepared, and Cyan and Terra died almost immediately, but Cyan managed to get off a mindblow, allowing Gau to solo him as Repo man. The updated mechanics make this game way more interesting.
