You lose your equipped sword and shield that really blows.

*edit* apparently you lose all of your equipped gear :/

That's how it was in FF4 vanilla too. Gotta strip Cecil down to his undies before you class change.

Yea, this happened in vanilla as well. There's no code in the game to tell it to unequip someone you're about to lose, so this happens with everyone that comes and goes. In this particular scene you are granted some replacement equipment (and I give WAY more than vanilla), and almost nothing he can equip is irreplaceable.

i guess i never noticed it happen before in vanilla because it was equipment you couldn't use anymore.

Yea, I know it's not really spoilers, but it is put off in the game for a while which keeps some people wondering if you ever become one.
