Here's something I've been wanting to do for a while. This is a run I've just started on Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel, with a randomized file by the use of the randomizer linked above. It randomizes:

• The codes of every BattleChip;
  
• Your starting folder;
  
• The enemies in every virus encounter;
  
• Which BattleChips are dropped by enemies;
  
• Which BattleChips are found in mystery data;
  
• Which BattleChips can be bought in shops.
  
• And some more!

So far, it's been a blast. You don't know what to expect, but it seems like they handled it pretty well, because you don't seem to encounter tier 2 or tier 3 enemies at the beginning of the game, so they knew what they were doing.

What's neat about randomizers, is that by selecting the same seed as me, you can play with the same randomized aspects! A "seed" is simply a number, so if you want to play along, I'm playing with the "1337" seed.

About the creator of the randomizer, he's called Prof.9 from the The RockMan Exe Zone forums. He's one of my main helpers for my BN3 project, and the guy simply rocks at ASM and general BN knowledge.

Anyway, to start out this run, we explore the early ACDC areas before digging into the storyline.

how funny is it that after i start watching the rockman exe anime, i start seeing alot of stuff on it. Still, this sounds interesting and because its not a hardcore randomizer, theres no threat of uncompleteable gameplay like there is in a handful of other randomizers.

I would have to assume that roll's chip is randomized as well though?

Yes, that's the good thing about this randomizer, it's all planned so whenever a chip is asked, you will already have it.

Every chip seems to have its code randomized, I think I got mine in G code.

as i remember roll chips are default to r code right? If the codes get changed like that then some chips can have some good setups like that. Though it might make program advance rather hard to do depending on the code combo

Here's the next episode, where we go to the actual first dungeon. It makes a bit of sense that SciLab's security is that horrible (since it's a test and all), because jeez. Even when randomized it's a joke.

I hate the hardass attitude of Baryl and Colonel btw, like we are supposed to respect him from the very beginning. Fuck that.

Here's the first liberation mission at ACDC3.

A pretty easy episode, since the viruses didn't change much from the others fought in the last episodes. BlizzardMan is simply a pushover. Shame I didn't get the kill with 1 Navi though.
