thanks ill go with this since i would like duran to be focused on attacking. didnt know it had an accessory to make spells MT. vanadis does look better with it. and i thought RM had stat downs? was i mistaken?

gear doesn't get strictly better but gets different side effects, running, strong/regular attack split, etc.
plus most bosses are very different from their vanilla selves. Especially the god beasts are no longer just "element swaps" of each other.

it does not affect all spells; basically it promotes all spells to MT that had a MT form legitimately available in vanilla.

Rune Master has the Lv2 and Lv3 spell plus saber of the 4 "base" elements.
Maybe you ment Archmage who has Power Down and Mind Down?

hmmm... I might have written myself into a corner...

the final bosses story-wise have absorbed the power of the god beasts.
in the base game this expressed itself by giving them the gb's signature moves and "background changing" powers (change elemental weaknesses).

This of course becomes lame once you enhance the godbeasts beyond mere "element swaps", what we did here.

So what do we have to work with here? Read at your own peril.

Fiegmund: stacking dot, hiding out of reach
Xan Bie: full max HP damage, 999 heals in the lava pool
Landumber: insane defenses that require anti-magic, permanently increases all defenses each time he casts def up
Dangaard: ...he exists? and the original "cheat" of an MT Lv3 spell (directly after the proper saber ofc)
Dolan: resist all/weak to neutral; 999 damage charge attack
Mispolm: status-kills, thorns
Lightgazer: heal nerf, light max HP damage, saber trolling
Zable Fahr: main head's spell damage increases by target's missing HP AND a portion of own missing HP

You can probably guess that most combinations of those are (close to) unwinnable.

This can only end interesting.

btw there are a lot of new accessories xD love it but since there is no description im not sure what it does. for example Thief's armband in dwarf cave. im guessing its hawk exclusive stats accessory or it somehow gives better items in chests?

For various reasons, I can't show the equipment effects in an ingame description, so you kinda have to check back with the armor_elements_stats.xls delivered with the patch. This applies to accessoires (shared between characters) and armors/helms/weapons (unique per character).

Was playing tonight, and one thing a friend mentioned.... that would be really cool is if the ring menu didn't stop all inputs from other characters... like if I could keep melee'ing as Hawk while Angela was fishing for her cast spells.

Realize it's probably nigh impossible, but just putting it out there as a wishlist item. I'm sure someone mentioned it before and it got shot down, but damn that would be interesting. May require the whole game to get harder tho, I dunno. Then again, it could work conversely for enemies attacking while you were in the menu too.

Coding aside, think about how bad the slowdown can get with 3 vs 3 fighters and some damage numbers on screen, now add a dozen ring elements. Not happening.
I mean I can almost crash the game just with Hawk.
Once, the game even needed 2-3 minutes to resolve a fight in Shangri La. This is seriously bad enough.

For single player it would make it unreasonably harder since you can't do anything while you think your strategy in the ring menu and the Ninja are critting you dead.
On the flipside, it would trivialize most bosses, as you could just open the menu and watch the AI slaughter it, as it can't cast any spell while the menu is active.

Jumping back into it after months. The light and heavy attack additions are pretty neat and its nice to see most of the final weapons have been implemented (the rogue and the wanderer weapons seem cool). I have noticed however that my main character has been falling a bit behind in XP compared to the other two for some reason (I've only cleared the first boss so far but I'll keep the armors and equipment on the same tier and continue on and see if it persists).

Rolling a Duran/Kevin/Lise crew to try and have some fun with the debuff (Dragonmaster + Death Hand) mechanic. So far this is probably the most fun we've had so far, early game anyway. Fights are super fun since it's just melee all over the place.

Should be interesting as we continue .... remembering the OP.

Well, if anyone stays behind it is most likely the main character.
The other two can gain +30 exp per kill as long as they are lower than the main.
If anyone dies, the game queues an exp event for each player character, order being semi-random, but if you leave the screen before it gets handled it is gone.
So in total if the game has a hickup where it skips giving the main character exp, it sticks, the underlings would catch back up over time.

Don't know if that is the issue you're facing, but I'd take it as a likely explanation.

The gildervine fight is really, really borked. You lose control of your character too often, just standing there for several seconds waiting for something to resolve.

While you're frozen there an add attacks fifteen times and you just want to heal but then sleep flower resolves on your pc and game switches you to someone casting.
