Insane Difficulty: Just finished, some input! - Insane Difficulty

Everything in this mod is pretty awesome. just a few points:

1. Edge gets super powerful really quickly near the end and it takes a bit for everyone to catch up
2. Cecil seems pretty underwhelming for most of the game. Maybe bump his damage early as a Dark Knight. His damage and utility works out really well when you have end game gear.
3. Kain feels like he's in a good spot though I never used Luck.
4. Same with Rydia, except for Flirt instead of luck.
5. Rosa is Rosa. For a large part of it she was just a healbot with a few slows/hastes/fury sent out. she seemed kinda slow compared to everyone else but i'm thinking that's just because I was using a life staff instead of her Artimis bow.
6. The pacing seemed to go really well through out the story and I really liked the changes made.

I finished at about level 50-53 on everyone. I didn't grind or look for adamant armor at all (i always hated searching for that stuff).

Were you playing the most recent version? I bumped Cecil up for the mid-late game in 1.04. Early game Cecil is kinda meh for a reason... (see spoilers)



Really glad you liked the story changes and where the rest of the characters sit though. Flirt/Luck were kinda last minute additions as I didn't really have anything else to give them, and there weren't many abilities left to choose from/tweak (the editor is a bit limiting on how each command slot can be utilized).

Power creep is something I hope to address when I redo monsters/AI. I tried to avoid making the player grind, and you finished about where I expect players to.

I was playing the latest version. there were a few points where i was grinding a bit just to prep for the magnes cave. at the end I tend to run from battles quite bit because i find them too much of a tax on resources.

One thing i forgot to mention about Edge, his shurikens are next to useless :/ as soon as you are able to buy them he is hitting for the same if not more by sitting in the front row.

It's ok that cecil is a little underwhelming in the attacking aspect, it makes it feel like he should be used more as a supporty type character who can also do damage when there is nothing else to do. gives him a lot of choice imo.

I didn't use Edge's Shurikens often, but they occasionally came in handy. Although endgame it paled in comparison to front row Hasted Berserked Edge (who is an absolute monster), there were a couple points where I put him in the back for safety and let him chuck those things. It wasn't... amazing..., but I felt it was a legitimate use for them, especially in the Magnetic Cave (where I decked Cecil and Kain out in all the heavy defensive metal gear they could ever want and let them tank in the front row, simply because I was too lazy to figure out all the Inventory Management Puzzle shenanigans that I hate in that dungeon). Since you get such an enormous amount of money in this mod the cost isn't that meaningful either.

In comparison, Pray and Train are the skills I never got any use out of, so if anything needs a bump it would be them rather than Shurikens. Pray is the sort of move that I'd use only when I want to conserve MP, but it costs MP anyways so I never really used it (the only scenario I'd use it otherwise is if everybody save Rosa was dead, in which case I'd hope for a lucky MT Arise, and that never happened). Rosa can do everything in general more efficiently and safely just by casting spells. And I sat there for about ten minutes against a sleeping Green Imp trying to get Train to do anything, abusing fast-forward in the process. It didn't do a darn thing.

oh! Berzerked hasted edge is a fucking monster. any fight that i could do that i would just because there is no input delay and he often triple turn cecil.
