The rules are aptly named. It's a good goal for anyone to strive for.

I think "be cool" is too vague a header. "Cool" is different things to different people. To some it is similar taste, to others a demeanor. Many consider it a badge, while yet more think it a temperature.
Besides, "don't be an asshole" can easily take on the text of the redundant "be cool" header, but without the confusion; assholes are obvious. While cool is subjective, an asshole smells the same to everyone. Though cool may be hard to quantify, an asshole can easily be measured by the size of its turds. Assholes can be defined.

But socially you know if you're being an asshole. It's quite clear when you use common sense; if you're trying to use a loophole in the rules to say you're not being an asshole (hypothetically speaking, I'm obviously not talking about you) then you're just trying to get away with being one.

Although I think "be cool" is extremely self explanatory and evident, if you are confused as to what it means within the context of this site, read the detailed text below it in the registration form.

I think this was a typo, but I found it kind of funny how "ead" in the word "read" is where the link starts, not the entire word.

Exactly. Assholes are so noticeable, they can even be recognized by themselves.

I read the text and referenced it in my second paragraph, but I think there's been a misunderstanding. I was only joking about the whole "ambiguity of cool" rambling; meant to act as a lighthearted segue into an example of what not to do (meohmy).

I think so as well.
