Insane Difficulty: Guaging Interest - Netplay/Multiplayer - Insane Difficulty

This may seem a bit ahead of the game, but since there seems to be interest in competitive play in these forums, I thought I'd go ahead and ask. Would anyone else be interested in netplay/multiplayer for this game upon it's completion?

Most mods I've played, their multiplayer aspects are kept intact (as long as both players are using the same roms - no Vanilla_x_WotU crossplay lol). Sadly, if this ends up being one of those exceptions, this won't be possible at all anyways. Although, I find that this project could lead to a very "healthy" competitive BN game. With all of the effort being put into balancing chip damage and things like how long invis/area grab last, I can't help but think it would be a blast. Anyone else feel the same way?

Though I'm interested in multiplayer more because I never got the opportunity to do so as a kid. I honestly don't care if it's "balanced" pvp or not, I'd just like to play vs other people. I still think the main focus should be on pve, with us just dealing with what's been made by Hart.

p.s I've no fucking clue how to set up netplay so, yeeeeah...

Admittedly, GBA netplay can be a bit of a pain to set up but it is possible. The easiest way to accomplish this would be with VBA Link (or I believe the newest version of -M) and have both players connect to a VPN.

And I'm sad to hear you never got to play any multiplayer as a kid. I had a lot of fun with it back in the day, my friends hated my Dark Man folder lol.

First of all, sorry kyozo, I completely forgot about you sending a PM about this a little ago.

AFAIK, it is possible to battle in BN6 (I did battle in my time with the brainuuu mod, the GvS mod, or even in vanilla) through hamachi, but that is possible because there's a Wireless option.

Do you know if it is actually feasible to battle BN3 online? Huge lags aside, I'd be completely down for it. BN battling is fast paced as fuck. But as Kyozo said, I would only reblaance the game for pve. It should be more balanced than vanilla though, especially with that little ASM change I have planned for FolderBack (Ohhh spoilers).

If anything, if you want something different than BN6, you'll have to wait for either WotU or Chrono X (beacuse I assume every fan of BN knows about CX ).

It is coded from scratch, but damn. You can't really tell much of a difference from any of the BN titles. And it's gonna incorporate online battles in the future.
