Saturos doesn't regen health because he's getting sapped by the mercury lighthouse. His real threat is supposed to be fireball spam.
Another note is that Saturos was balanced to be on equal footing as Tret because you could do either or once you reach Bilibin. So if you've cleared Tret, Saturos is pretty easy and if you do Saturos first Tret is easy

This was the hardest thing to balance. Tret has vanilla saturos difficulty if you go there first while saturos is much tougher. you may have gotten lucky in that he did not nail you with fireball a lot, (like he did for me every single time i tested it). I can buff him either way as i have saves states set at every boss in the game

Not at all I actually did this relatively low level. Did you get any Water of Lifes? All undead drop them just so you know. I made it easier to farm them since there is no way the player can afford their 300 coin cost at this time. Another thing is to save you strongest Psynergy for when they run out of items. Another thing is deadly poison is his least used move with a chance to use it at 11/256. you may just be unlucky in that he is getting those "11" chance more than not.
Please note that gear is important too so if you have not upgraded your gear you may need to do so. I am working on a list of things that have been added or changed so just sit tight if you are not sure what is what in FS. Thanks for the feedback though.
Stann if you could start a thread about your playthrough that would be great too. This way i can follow it better and see if there are anythings that need adjusting. This is mainly for when you run into something like "this Boss is too easy" or "Boss is impossible". type of thing though I do extensive testing on most bosses. Usually 4-5 runs to make sure they are winnable.

Only thing I did at Tret was grab the djinni and use Issac's Retreat so I could head to the lighthouse with all the djinn.
He only cast fireball a couple times but I probably just got lucky. like you said. What are the chances to seal off a boss's psynergy? 'Cause that's saved me quite abit. I'm sitting in Tolbi at the moment btw

that's actually one of the strategies i tried. The other was granite spam which was interesting. Then i did all out offense without sealing, were you using the psynergy bind? If so it is an instant 100% seal of psynergy. I may have to raise the cost if it is too OP for this early in the game. Thanks for the feedback by the way

Yeah it works on some bosses while djinn it works best for now. No one boss can be absolutely dominated by using Air Render or bind. Most bosses and enemies have more than one ability that does not use PP.

No, I had no idea there were any resurrect items available at this point. The only battles I have access to give less than a herb's worth of gold, so I assumed I was supposed to muscle ahead with the items I've found up to this point. I actually had to sell some items I've found (a nut and two "ball" items) to afford battle axes for Stann and Garret. Maybe I made a mistake upgrading my weapons/armor in the first town instead of saving the money for the better stuff in Vault?

The battle lasts long enough with his item spam for this to be more relevant than it seems. Every time I lost it was due to this move OHKO'ing someone and being unable to raise. This time around, I'll see if I can farm those rez items.

I think I could make this happen .
Edit: I've also found a bug, I don't know if you're aware of it. The numbing strike that triggers with a battle axe attack: if your original target is dead when your turn comes up, instead of switching to defense, the animation triggers on your main character instead. All of the battle text disappears and a red cursor/arrow appears in the top left until the turn is over. It doesn't do any damage or trigger statuses from what I've seen, but it's very awkward.

This has been fixed. Kihaku and zaen had the same issues.
