With the release of the most current version I feel that enough content has been completed to be able to adequately see how the damage curve is going to go. As such I am focusing my energy on porting everything over to the SNES to include all custom events, map changes, etc. that I have be working on for quite a while.
I will be doing a closed beta within the next couple of weeks that will be mostly to sniff out any bugs or issues with event triggers or events in general. There will still be the same amount of playable content but there will be more content overall due to the addition of the following:
-Several custom events
-Several custom boss enconters, most are optional
-Several map edits, most of the time adding more content to the areas
-More flexibility with the code so that I can do more with regards to things such as ATB, stats, Sketch, etc
-Totally revamped formation and encounter tables
-Probably some other stuff I can't remember
Anyway....
What I really need is a few people willing to play through and see if there are any glitches or bugs. I don't need a huge amount of people but even a few is really helpful since I won't really have time to play through myself. The majority of the time I will use to actually do the edits...I would say I am about 75% done atm.
Let me know in this thread or through PM if you are interested...this next version is going to be a HUGE step towards what my vision of the mod is. Thanks all always to everyone for their support!

Honestly the curve is pretty good(I hope). Some knowledge of the original is always good but I will give you all the info you need when the time comes. The main focus of the testing is just to make sure all the optional stuff is working correctly and that any patches supplied won't be glitchy.

The only extra work involved is copy/pasting the data, which isn't too bad.
All the additional content just takes time to put together, its alot of editing, trial and error, learning, testing, and more editing. I have been gradually working on that over the past 6-9 months but its been so long that I wanted a playable version. I was looking into the Advance version editing and I thought it would be interesting to see what I could do with the ROM which turned into a decision to make a version that only consisted of vanilla edits, no new content. This overall takes less time to do and the benefit is that I can just port everything over so the work doesn't really go to waste.
So what I have now is one version that will be closest to vanilla but be on GBA with SE's additional content, and then my version which will be much more polished overall since there is more work to be done.
Now that I have alot of enemies changed I can switch focus to SNES which is my main goal. This other version gives me time to see how people like and react to my changes while I can still work on everything else.
I'm not really sure what people think of what I have released yet because I haven't gotten any reactions. I am not sure if that is because people are not playing or responding, it also could be that not many are interested in playing the GBA version which I did not think would be the case.
This is a long explanation to a small question but its basically how I feel about the situation

I really appreciate it. There's no pressure for you to immediately do it when it comes out but even one person testing will really help the process

I will add that if people want I can make a SNES version identical to the GBA in terms of edits. My thought in making it was that it would be something people would want to play just because there isn't alot out there when it comes to FF6A mods.

For what it is worth I tried the GBA version. It crashes as soon as enemies appear in the first part. Repeat and the same thing happens. Get a different ROM from a different source and the same thing happens. Not sure why the emulator hates the game but there you go.

What emulator are you using? What rom did you download? I tried patching it and it works fine for me. Just like SNES you have to use the right rom because there are different versions. What you want is the European ROM. The US Rom will not work because the code is alot different in some places.
I downloaded and tested several ROMs just now. I searched for "Final Fantasy VI Advance Europe ROM" and the first 5 links that popped up were all valid ROMs and patched correctly. Their names are as follows:
Final Fantasy VI Advance (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It).gba
2753 - Final Fantasy VI Advance (E)(Eternity).gba
Final Fantasy VI Advance.gba
Final Fantasy 6 Advance.gba
I would also note that the US version is only 8MB whereas the European version is double the size at 16MB so this should help as well if you are having issues with the correct ROM.
I would use VisualBoyAdvance just based on my experience, I have not experienced any crashes whatsoever when using this program. If you are still having issues i'm not sure what more help I can give, but I hope this helps.

I totally understand. If you can play great but if not it will always be there. Even if one person plays and gives feedback it is helpful

I didn't say anything because of the sorts of responses I got the last time I was here.
I used the EU ROM each time. The first time I used the first link that showed when I used the same search string you listed, patched it, ran it through No$GBA, everything's fine until I get in a battle, then as soon as enemies appear the emulator crashes. Repeat and the same thing happens. So I got an EU ROM from the second link and same thing happened. It is possible that it is the emulator, 10-15 minute unskippable intros turned me off of trying too many times.
Since I apparently still have it in the recycle bin I can confirm one of them is 16 MB and is named "2753 - Final Fantasy VI Advance (E)(Eternity).gba".
So I don't even know. This computer does behave oddly at times, warning me about USB devices not working when none are connected for example. It's quite possible just using a different emulator would fix it.

my only theory is that it is the emulator giving you issues. Try VBA and let me know what happens. When I get home I'll try out the one you used and let you know what I find.I take any feedback seriously even if it is negative so don't feel bad about any comments you have.

I don't remember the exact error message, I think it was a generic emulator one.
I remember this same emulator giving me problems on DS games (some of the graphics would look divided) so it might be just that it's not as well coded? I dunno. I'm going on limited practical knowledge, my logic skills, and no actual modding experience.
