What are the chances of the PSX 1.3 for WotL?

Don't get me wrong, I really do like WotL 1.3, but certain changes kind of bug me. Berserkers, the messed up item descriptions, traps, some of the renames...
Is there any chance to get 1.3.0.8 for WotL? Or even 1.3.0.8 with WotL script? The vanilla FFT script is atrocious, and I really like the features of WotL.

Kyozo has the final say, but I can tell you what he's gonna say:
Nope.
This is well beyond the scope of Tides of Fate, but if you want it done so badly, you're welcome to do it yourself.
Though the ASM hacks are probably gonna be fairly difficult.

Advent, I've read a lot of your posts here, and I respect your input.
Would it be easier to put the script on 1.3.0.8, or put 1.3.0.8 on WotL?

You mean PSX 1.3.0.8 that can play on WOTL?
Or just 1.3.0.8 changes applied to WOTL?
I think both are very easy to do, especially the second one

Thank you.
You'd be better off putting the script from WotL into the PSX version. WotL has seen significantly less hacking than the PSX version, and as a result the ASM hacks that the PSX version uses won't port directly.

The 1.3.0.8 changes applied to WotL!
Archael, thank you for coming to this topic. I just want the goodness of 1.3.0.8 with the script (I can't help it, I love the script for WotL, TO: LuCT, FFXII...)

edit: apologies for fucked up words or sentences, I'm on a cellphone and full of distractions.
It's definitely not very easy to do and is almost certainly not going to happen unless arch does it for himself.
There are quite a few compatibility issues between roms. Not even including psx ASM hacks (100% knockback, ct-save, etc) which are just purely non-transferable, there are numerous work astounds on both ends to accommodate the changes. U
There are some tools one could use to open up the iso and import different parts from psx, chances are you will run into a plethora of unintended issues, which is why when I first ported over an older version of psx 1.3, I actually found it easier to go through the Patcher and manually copy some 300,000 checkmarks and options manually (no bullshit, that number us a rough estimate but its not far off). That's just the Patcher. The sprite and text editors have more restrictions and cause more unintentional crashes with wotl. Neither will be easy to import. Attempting any of the larger batch moves like replacing the entd entirely will almost certainly lead to errors you won't find for a long, long time.
Now, if your goal is to just import the text from psx, that still will not work. If you''re importing the text from psx about 45 or so items are going to be way off. About the only thing you can do us put the psx story translation in its place, but not items and equipment. Or the opposite (wotl story to psx) but I'm not sure if the events arch added will get messed up or not.
Basically, it's just not going to happen.
HOWEVER,
of your list of WOTL 1313 complaints are more or less limited to the buggy text descriptions and berserkers, I have good news. I have a much more cleaned up iso I have been working on that is drastically better than the last release. That release was very much a work in progress that ended abruptly before it could be anything I could be proud of. Kyozo fixed about 98% of the text bugs and I fixed the growths, some job requirement issues and some game crashes. It's infinitely more playable and I'll have it more or less done real soon.
The berserkers, btw, are barely in the game. You can't train one of your own anymore (requires level 8 to all other jobs, which has been edited to require 9001 jp each). You can't incite them and outside of the first battle, which was designed around it (and us much easier now) I think you'll run into like 3 or 4 in the whole game. The job only existed to attempt to salvage something out of the wotl only job slot, which is hard coded to suck. There is nothing sacrificed, I assure you.
The traps will take you about ten minutes to get rid of if you want. Just find that tab on the Patcher and disable them all one by one. Don't even have to mess with move-finds. Just change the trap type to blank.

Doc, thanks for replying. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, 1.3.1.3 is certainly better than nothing, and I know you worked hard on the patch.
I think I will play 1.3.0.8 in the meantime as I humbly await your/Kyozo's latest cleaned up version.
Are Miluda, Argath, etc. supposed to be Onion Knights? I used a EU ISO as suggested, I just want to make sure I didn't do anything wrong.
Edit: I want to make it very clear that I appreciate all of the hard work done.

Hey, random comment here (welcome to ID neverminder ).
Has anyone ever considered including in the WOTL download both the 1.3.1.3 patch, and the previous patch? The previous one, while not equal to PSX, had a lot more resemblances to it, and tbh I enjoyed it more. But I can understand people liking 1.3.1.3 as well, so why not include both?

Also, I am curious how EL TOROCK has WotL with 1.3.0.8. It's clearly the PSP script when he is in Deep Dungeon, but it's WotL. I wish I could summon him to this thread. Tried to shoot him a message, but nothing yet.

Ha, you don't even need to be grateful. I made what I made here for EXACTLY the reason you made this thread. I just figure if I was going to put in that work I might as well throw it out there in case anyone happened to be interested. essentially though, it's basically the result of me playing one huge game of solitare. It's evolved quite a bit separately from the psx version on purpose. I made it for my personal tastes and what I wanted specifically was for it to be a different look from 1.3 because I was bored and wanted a different look. This flies in the face of the original 1.3 mission statement which was to maintain as much of the original as possible but make it more balanced and more difficult.
In that same vein, even psx 1.3 has strayed from that path quite a bit. It's more like 1.5 at this point. I'm not saying that to dog it, arch has done amazing work and I like the latest psx 1.3 way more than any version that came before it. I could never blame someone for preferring that one over this one. I go back and forth with both all the time.
I will say though that the last official release is absolutely unplayable. The update is basically one clear day away (when I'll have that day, I can't commit to) and should redeem the name a little bit.

I guess I could best describe the philosophy behind it as fft 1.3 with, like a shit load more guns. It's not a replacement. It's flavor.
