I patched the game for my PC emulator and it doesn't load. Does this patch only work in the actual PSP itself?

I found a CSO of the WOTL already patched and that works but patching a original iso with the PPF doesn't play it

Will not work on any emulators that I know of.

You will need:

-Hacked PSP with customer firmware
-NTSC version of a vanilla ISO
-PPF-o-Matic

First of all i apologise if this is not the right place to ask this question.
I would like to know if it is possible to emulate wotl in a computer and if it is possible can someone tell me which psp emulator should i use??

To my knowledge, there is no PSP emulator that can properly emulate WOTL. Luckily, old PSPs are very cheap these days.

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely that there will be a proper psp emulator any time soon. It's apparently more of a pain in the ass than emulating a ps2, which I am told is also a huge pain.

For now, and possibly forever, you will need to use a PSP

I think there is a Java psp emulator, but I'm pretty sure it is rather buggy.

Couldn't get it to work past the name selection IIRC. And up until that point, it was running at about quarter speed.

That's a shame. I might still try it, only because I wouldn't mind playing WOTL 1.3.

It was an OK PC. It wouldn't have been ideal, but it should have been enough. That was not likely the biggest factor. The game itself glitched pretty badly and I spent a lot of time messing with the settings.

Even if it becomes a viable option, you're still going to run the increased risk that the patch itself would cause glitches on the emulator that don't effect the PSP, like the "now loading" bug on anything other than epsxe.

It's going to be a long time, if ever. They've barely "perfected" PS2 (FFX and FFXII run well but run a bit slow at times). The demand for PSP emulation is small compared to the supply of talented and motivated developers. Furthering that, the supply of people demanding an emulator also demand such a small subset of gems without the popular nostalgia that comes with titles like FF mainline and the Zelda series, so the motivated and talented very few are more likely to be working on more popular systems still in demand (or becoming as popular as they have ever been) like PCSX2. The PS2 was supposedly a much bigger pain in the ass to emulate than anything that had come before it and the PSP is supposedly even more of a bitch.

I think is something with the FFT War of the Lions because is not Stereo audio ( i thinks its mono) i can manage to fix if there any way to use psx audios on the psp version or something.

Yes, now we can play at 60 frame on the latests PPSSPP builds ( 7.6 and or higher).
Problem is the music and some sounds is very scramble ( the same occurs on the latest JPCSP builds).
I think is something with the FFT War of the Lions because is not Stereo audio ( i thinks its mono) i can manage to fix if there any way to use psx audios on the psp version or something.

Merged the emulator threads as there's some legitimate traction on this game's viability on emulators. INCLUDING your goddamn phone. This could be bigger than the animation slowdown fix, but it's not all the way there yet. This thread is to track the progress.

Also, I'm pretty sure the phone version of WOL doesn't have slowdown.

It's not the phone version of WOTL, it's a PSP emulator for just about any operating system. This is a huge leap forward in terms of quality for a PSP emulator.

Apparently, according to what I've read, the PC version of the emulator should be playable with the right settings. I tested it on my phone and it was running 60 FPS(and super fast) on an HTC one X, but the mobile version crashes/drastically slows down when real gameplay starts and can't load videos, so it's not playable yet, but it's on the horizon. There are a ton of decent PSP games available that play perfectly, too.

The game runs perfectly, patched, and slowdown fix patched (which is now available in PPF format on EU version only) all at the same time, at frame rates up to 220FPS on my shitty machine. It sounds like shit, but it runs like a goddamn champ.

Until you beat magic city gariland fight and the game crashes when you get to the world map

But it's coming soon. Very, very promising, and changed a lot just since the last time this thread was bumped.
