Insane Difficulty: Anima Zero plays Dragon Warrior 3 Hardtype - Insane Difficulty

How long has it been since I've done one of these? Quite some time ago!

Basically, I mentioned to zombero that I was going to do this once version 2.1 came out which it did yesterday. Of course, my experience with this hardtype goes only as far as the town of Isis and the Pyramid there.

Long story short...I'm going to die quite a bit, calling it.

That being said, the opening videos involve a bit of shuffling between the first two towns before taking a tour through a cave to reach a tower and grab an important key. My team for this mission is some kind of Hero, a Pilgrim (has more hp than my goddamned hero right now btw), a Wizard, and a Soldier.

...Wait, Soldier? In a game where I can name my party members? I do believe my man is about to kick ass once more .

Today's video continues the quest as the team picks up an important item in Reeve before going through the Cave of Enticement on the way to Romaly. I'm going to have to do some serious grinding to upgrade my equipment off screen if my status at the end of the cave is any indication though.

With the team's latest round of grinding complete, tonight's video takes them into a nasty cave filled with dingbat monsters in search of a ruby that a random elven queen wants from some reason. Hey, if it means awakening a sleeping town and getting access to a pair of potentially useful weapons for the magic users of my party, so be it!

Tonight's video takes the team on a journey to a town in the desert to snatch up one very awesome piece of equipment. Not much more to it then that.

A trio of videos tonight where a tower is raided for a crown I'm not returning, then a trip through a desert locale to get a shiny new key and a shiny new weapon that my Pilgrim is going to use to cast Bang over and over again.

Also, Man-Eating Chests. They live up to the name and managed to get kills on everyone in my party...except for Rex. My man is awesome, simple as that .

Tonight's trio of videos take the party on a quest to obtain a shiny new ride, but run into an old friend in the process. Also, a tower is climbed for a very rare and important item that my Wizard is going to be making full use of before the next video.

Finally...my Wizard got eaten twice in this trio of videos. Once due to asshole Shell Snails, the other due to another hungry chest. Someone in my party was not happy with this outcome and is going to get some specialized training of his own in...and no, it's not my Wizard that's doing this.

Tonight's trio of videos begins with my team doing some sailing around the world, collecting a key and two important orbs along with visiting many new towns along the way, before visiting a tower to claim a cursed shield that may have some use for me down the line.

Also, I have a Sage along with Captain Rex getting POWER in the form of class changing to a Goof Off and leveling until he hit capped luck, then class changed back to a Soldier to have a much better chance to shrug off status ailments. That's good at least.

Then again, all that luck saved face when I ran afoul of a few Tentacles on the ocean. I'm amazed nobody died in that battle to be honest.

Tonight's video gets the workings for a town to be built from the ground up underway thanks to my lv1 Merchant, then finding a random Book of Satori from a random battle because I'm apparently goddamned lucky.

Finally, the Hero goes solo into a dungeon in search of the third orb (and an awesome high defense armor too). After grabbing the orb, he attempts to fight a Mimic solo and, well, doesn't exactly fare well. Guess that means I should leave the other Mimic chest in the cave alone and...hold up, someone killed the Mimic, even after getting slept midway through the fight? I wonder who...



Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, fucks with my man Rex !

I would suggest that anyone playing a drinking game where you take a drink every time someone dies to halt their plans. Mimics that can doublest cast Defeat are royal pains in the ass.

On the plus side, the team did give the Boss Troll an ass kicking he'll never forget.

Today's videos wrap up the orb collection spree by doing a quick quest for a sword allowing access to the cave of Necrogond, complete with an asshole ghost enemy that has access to Beat & Defeat, then hopping on over to an island cave where a boss awaits.

The boss? A dragon...or close enough to a dragon.

If you're playing a drinking game, then you know the rule when Rex gets a crit. However, you might have to finish two or three drinks because, not only does he get the killing blow on both fights with Orochi, he ends the second fight in a way very familiar to him...a critical hit.

Oh yeah, I get a means of aerial transportation so Captain Rex and his crew can go kick the ass of the archfiend next time, yay!

Today's videos bring down the tyranny wrought by Archfiend Baramos, an expert in the game of limbo (Also, a pain in the ass boss). Turns out his defeat means the actual mastermind comes out of hiding, forcing the team to chase him to the land he holds rule over, Alefgard, and nearly get their collective asses kicked in the first fight they get into there. Giant ass green statues are mean little bitches, aren't they?

Tonight's video is a long one where I basically visit every town in the world of Alefgard and get some sweet equipment in the process. Not much else to say otherwise.

Tonight's videos wrap up pretty much every single place that can be visited on Alefgard aside from Zoma's Castle. Closing in on the end now!

Today, another hardtype hack comes to a close as the final dungeon is raided and Rex gets the killing blow on a couple bosses, one of them being the final boss. Couldn't ask for a better way to end the playthrough then that, heh.
