dear praetorious this bug exists thru patches .420 all the way to .490. when hawk is your main character the chibikko hammer WILL NOT turn your party small thus breaking the corrobokkle forest quest and ruining your playthrough. please fix this bug as soon as possible and release updated patch with this problem addressed. thank you and happy new year.

Are you wearing any of the items that are listed with "resist chibikko"?
Like Hauberk, Chain Vest, Soft Leather, Bat Coat, Sailor Dress, Chainmail or Moon Ring?
For a matter of fact, Hawk was my go-to main for testing various changes, so I doubt it is related to him.
edit:
Also, .420 is almost 8 months old, so more chances that you were not the first to play with Hawk as main in that time.

if possible maybe make a sign or npc at the entrance or very close to corrobokkle forest that reminds the player about this. not everyone constantly refers to the read me.
if its possible to just add a very out of place npc right before the event to talk to, especially in what would normally be a battle area, i doubt anyone even people who have beaten the game before, would pass up speaking to them / seeing whats up.

I don't know how to add NPCs; even if, there's the issue of translation (patches).
The readme thing will be an unsolvable problem until I just include a translation myself and change item names to be a very blunt sign of what they do (e.g. Anti-Poison RIng) - and I'm not willing to go there.
