-MUST use EU (PAL) version of the ISO. If you're not sure which one you have, there are 409,054 KB's in the PAL version and 409,056 in the US (NTSC) version. You can find both on the same, well known website where you can find all the rest of your roms, which shouldn't take more than a few minutes of googling.

-The slowdown fix patch is automatically included in this PPF. If you are running it on a PSP and already have the live patch version, you will need to disable it or they cancel each other out. If you are intending to run this on an emulator or your PSP is not already loaded with the live patcher, you won't have to do anything.

-There is now an emulator capable of playing this game with very decent performance. You can find it at PPSSPP.org and there is a version for every operating system, including your phone. This game was only tested on a mediocre 64-bit windows PC, your results may vary. Just download the latest version, run the exe, set up your controls and play. The default settings are pretty much ideal, but you can play around with the features to tweak it a little bit.

-The emulator plays it very well, but the sound is even more messed up than just playing it on a PSP and there is a graphical glitch where some windows pop up still showing the graphics from the previous screen. It's an emulator issue and it's on their list (progress happens fairly quickly over there). Just be sure to double-check that your preview panel looks legit before speeding through a fight. The only other known issue so far is that something about the emulator sterilizes monsters, so they won't lay any eggs unless you play on a PSP.

--Details in "New overhaul: details" thread
--revamped Growth, Modifier, JP, Job level and JP level values linked to a virtual 4-dimensional web, then tweaked for common sense.
--Generally, PA/MA and SP are a point or two lower for all units
--There is value to leveling in/running a battle as any particular point in the game
--Entire system is more intuitive. Prerequisites (and their stat focus) make more sense and follow a smoother path
--new system rewards patience and keeps lower tiered classes relevant by having earlier jobs focus on growths while higher tiered jobs exchange growths for modifiers. You can choose between being a summoner w/ planar magic for higher stats later on, or a Sage with summon for higher stats now
--New requirements/growth stats and job level requirements listed in the class by class section below

-Everybody gets a free car!
--Every job has 1-2 free abilities. This way, you're still a time mage even if you're saving up all of your points for Swiftness
--Guests will join your party with more interesting stuff to work with

-Everybody gets to pay taxes on their free cars!
--Enemies will have access to more useful abilities
--Mobility lowered. Base jump down by 1 for all jobs

-Lots of storyline fights had subtle tweaks. Don't rely on the same old tricks every fight
-Stop status now cancels, and is canceled by, Haste and Slow. Shorter duration

Because I only have the time to keep up with one ISO and I needed to use the EU ISO this time because the only slowdown fix PPF patch I have tested works on the EU version. I wouldn't worry about putting that in the patch at all, except that the emulator needs the ppf version of the slowdown fix. Thus, you all have to download the EU version.

Just warning you all that there's so much shit I didn't put into the patch notes. I'm the most disorganized human being you'll ever meet. I get an idea, I pop in the changes, I do something else and forget about it. Chances are, if you see something different, it was intentional. Unless it's like DD gear on a move-find in mandalia.

And yeah, the tree monster with beastmaster in sweegy woods is intentional. That fight is too fucking easy.

my live patch plugin is disable..

If you used the last patch and it worked, you do not have a PAL ISO. The previous patches used the US version.

After setting up the Karma Web ™, I went back through the generics and adjusted for commons sense, then went through every job/monster/special/boss in the game and adjusted accordingly.

You won't see a whole lot of diversity in stats until early-mid game (just due to the way the game calculates it) but by the time you hit 99, you'll see differences. By the time you can abuse the system to maximize your stats beyond what the enemy is capable of, your stats won't amount to half a damn anyway

It's designed to just play and see how it goes. Once you get the new system, it's more intuitive. Jumping from one class to the next, it becomes obvious which classes you need to be in beforehand, and those classes will already be building stats close to idea for the next job anyway. White mage and Black mage have a baby, and I it's the Oracle (get it, like the yin-yang symbol? ). Only the offspring may have more targeted stats for its class, but the growths become weaker as the modifiers grow stronger.

This doesn't mean you should stay a knight for 99 levels, either. Sure, the knight has killer PA growths, but it's severely lacking in speed. Sooner or later, it would behoove you to switch to a thief for a while to balance it out. Lancers, Summoners and mimes are the exception. Those are the jobs you will want to eventually level your units in once you decide to make the jump to 99. Squires and chemists have decent al-around growths as well, but also decent all-around modifiers, so they will be useful both early AND late-game.

Jobs like Sage and DK have bad overall growths (like a weaker Knight/Black mage, decent PA or MA, but not great, bad speed), but make up for it in modifiers. Now you have a choice. Bring in the big guns for a fight because you need it and possibly sacrifice a stat point or two in the end game, or bring in their skillsets on a job with better growths to be stronger later on.

Play it carefully enough, you will always have a stat advantage no matter how anal you are by not neglecting the lower jobs while you're leveling and building for bigger modifiers at 99.

Anyway, some more bugs to iron out: Monks suck more than I had hoped. the lowered PA hits them double-hard. Gonna beef up their PA modifier, so it won't affect your growths or anything. They'll just suddenly not suck when you patch the bug patch.

Just looking over the patch now. Balthier and Kakashi are close to physical gods, huh? It's interesting to see how much you tweaked SPc values. Dark knights are going to be amusingly slow. Reis actually has worse HP growth than dragoons, though her multiplier is amazingly better...

The HPc values for Lancers and Summoners are really, really good. I'll wait to see how it plays out, but I'm a bit hesitant about seeing a HPc value of 8 on a mage class. I was expecting a 10. Then again, HP is up across the board, so maybe it works out.

Mimes not duplicating focus is making them pretty crappy so far. They also appear to hit freakishly low now. A level 20 Ramza as a mime hits for about 20. A female character was hitting for 12. A chemist with a basic dagger generally hits harder.

I'm at Brigand's Den and I have no idea what to do because every strategy I've tried has not even done anything. I didn't have this problem on my other playthrough because I used chain focus on mimes to power them up quickly and then assassinate the boss. I think due to the growths all the enemies have 2 speed higher than any of my characters, and I'd have to level to try to get more options. But then if I level, the enemies will also level and I'll never actually be close in power. Plus, Delita and Algus aren't gonna get past level 7 so they will be dead weight no matter what.
