While I'm mostly interested in your favorite FC teams, I'm also curious at what everyone else likes to take to the four big sections of the WoB. Barring forced characters, of course.
After my most recent Zozo run, I'm sold on a Edgar/Celes/Shadow/x party. I ran Locke in the fourth slot, but honestly, he wasn't necessary. Throwing the Switchblade on Shadow lets him steal the X-Potion from Dadaluma, and anything else you want can be farmed for later. So I'd probably run Sabin in the last slot, just to be able to slow Dadaluma and the Gigas encounters.
For the sealed cave, Gau/Mog/Edgar/Terra was absolutely hilarious. Up until the Kefka fight, Love Sonata + Albatross auto-piloted me through every single fight with minimal danger. And then for Kefka, while it was a bit trickier to pull off, I eventually found out that Exocite/Water Rondo would chew through the Phalanxes in roughly half a second.
And then for the FC, I just don't know. I'm currently stuck trying to figure out who to take this time. Last time, I ran Cyan/Terra/Sabin, and then swapped Sabin for Strago when Sabin proved too squishy to survive Atma (I know someone's gonna ask, just roll with it for now). In any case, while both were good, I don't want to run a group too similar to my last time through it this time.

Edgar is glued to my lineup from Zozo till Atma himself (I get all of Gau's FC rages before finishing WoB and leave Edgar on the airship for the second trip), unless I'm purposely hobbling myself. Man can almost single-handedly clear or neuter every encounter in the WoB thanks to Tools, and is really tanky in the backrow.
Typical first FC run for me will be Terra/Celes (Whichever is going for a tanky build that playthrough), Edgar, and then one of the rod-wielders so I can make shortish work of Chupon and the IAF. Second run will generally be a more Atma-focused team involving a rod wielder, one of Terra/Celes/Setzer (for Cure 2 spam), and then a dedicated tank who's only job is throwing Phoenix Downs and Tinctures (Kirin Cyan/Locke is great for this, but could be anybody so long as the relic set-up is solid). I know that's not very specific, but I've played through this a lot of times and generally try to avoid using the same team too often, Edgar aside.

edgar is an automatic pick for zozo. shadow is great if you can afford him. locke makes getting the rare steals easier.
for the imf i usually take at least one of edgar or sabin.
for the sealed gate i usually take cyan.
for the floating continent my favorite is terra gau strago. but i usually do something else to mix it up. my last run was vigor mog (i.e. no esper levels), magic edgar, and stamina celes.

Edgar clears Zozo and IMTRF randoms. Sabin makes the Sealed Cave easier but I leave him out if I'm trying to train Mog for FC. Locke always makes my Sealed Cave party though, so he gets the EXP for the Thamasa section. For FC I always bring Celes for Slow, healing, and Ice against Atmaweapon, but the other two slots I've been iterating on a lot. Recently I've grown fond of bringing Terra with 10 Kirin planning to long term head into her Stamina build, since that lets her tank a lot more hits than usual and still do decent healing & support. For actually killing Atmaweapon, my favorites by an order of magnitude are Mog and Strago, who both are able to sustain themselves as they do a ton of damage, Mog with Water Rondo and Strago with Ice 2 and Osmose. Strago also has the benefit of Aqua Rake being great against the IAF, whereas Mog is slightly more suited for Thunder Rod burning through Ultros/Chupon. I've tried Celes/Mog/Strago on the FC and it's pretty darn good, but (and this is a personal problem) I think Mog and Strago look really dumb in the cutscene after beating Atmaweapon.

Edgar, Sabin, Locke, Terra is my power party for WoB.
I try to get Strago in there for FC while removing Edgar and Locke, and I always take Shadow (who wouldn't?) when I can.
Best Zozo team IMO is Edgar, Cyan, Celes, Shadow (or, if you are a terrible person and dislike Shadow for some unholy reason, Locke instead)

Okay, just brought Mog to fight Atma. Turns out, it's pretty solid when accompanied by Celes. Runic handles nearly everything dangerous in the first phase, allowing Mog to dance Water Rondo to his heart's content. Toxic Frog and Surge were both slamming the boss for ~2200, while El Nino and Plasma were both doing ~970.
For the second phase, dancing Forest Suite allows Mog to handle most of the dangerous things Celes can't Runic away. The status removal on Harvester takes care of both Mind Blast and Raze, and as a bonus, when Berserked, Mog doesn't stop dancing. So he actually cured his own Berserk with a Harvester. On top of that, both Razor Leaf and Elf Fire hit Atma for about 1200. Meanwhile, Celes can still keep a runic shield up for the always-threatening Flares, Quartrs, and Quakes.
I'm running Edgar in the third slot, but he's actually not helping in the slightest. He was great for the randoms, between Bio Blaster and Noise Blaster where useful, but I think Setzer would do better in that slot instead. "Failed" slot rolls would get you through the turns Mog doesn't Harvester, and then you can shoot for winning slot spins on turns Setzer has nothing else to do. Also, having him able to summon Seraph for the party-wide Reraise would make this fight go even more smoothly. But that's probably just wishful thinking.

I think what Edgar is bringing to the table there is backup healing in case Mog's RNG fucks you and a decent attack (Drill) otherwise. He can also cast Slow so Celes doesn't have to, and if you really just wanted to have him attack he could dragoon with an Icebrand.

A jumping Icebrand setup never actually occurred to me. But I bet it would do some very nice damage, although a jumping Mog with an Ice Rod sounds more interesting, if not better
Either way, yeah, he was basically there as a support and backup healer. But I realized about the time Atma killed me the first time that Edgar is pretty unsuited for that role in the WoB, since he doesn't have a strong enough MP pool and his tool choices are limited. For Atma, Setzer would do almost everything my Edgar did and then some, with Slow being the notable exception. For the rest of the floating continent, it's debatable.

Personnaly :
-For Zozo : Sabin with Poison Claws and auto-berserk break the shit out of Dadaluma, Edgar with Bio Blaster clean up the random and Dadaluma's minions, Locke/Shadow with Butterflies deals high damage and Celes is for support.
-For the Seal Cave : Suprisingly Mog and Gau together completly destroy Random in the sealcave however having both of them turns out to be a very bad idea for the Phallanx.
-For Floating Continent : Usually use Celes, Sabin, Cyan and Shadow, there is no strategic reason it's just that the 4 of them are my favorite Characters in the game so it fits me to finish WoB and beating Atma with them.
