Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it! Hmm yeah having new game+ be its own game would be pretty interesting. If I ever get around to doing an update to this hack, that's something I'd certainly consider adding. And it'd be nice to polish some of the difficulty, redesign some of the bosses, and maybe add more strategic effects to some of the player techniques. I've been pretty busy with other projects, though, so I don't know when that would be.

I just wanted to say I finally got around to playing this and it drives me wild with delight!
As much as I loved vanilla, it was totally a game I could fall asleep mashing the A button through dungeons... Now I am so desperate to learn every tech ever! Every character is so well balanced and I can't ever choose who to keep in my party because I love everyone.

I may say the same! Vanilla is OK [regarding the gameplay], but this is awesome! I don't even dare to play this version at the ACTIVE BATTLE MODE! I like it so much that every phrase has exclamations!
Seriously now, you took the best game ever and made it better. Thanks, man!

I can't download the patch for some reason. I followed the instructions of the guide and installed the LunarIPS, used the Lavos Awakening patch first (has a heart icon) and use it on my Chrono Trigger (USA) EN by Chrono Compendium v1.01 one. I even get the message that the patch is succesfully installed. However, when I play the game, I'm not noticing any change, since I can still run away from battles. Anyone know what the problem is?

Well, on this site you don't have to download a patch. You can just download the complete game here: http://www.insanedif...avos-awakening/
But it sounds like you're looking to combine the hardtype patch with a translation hack? Without knowing exactly how that other hack works, I couldn't tell you what could make them incompatible. However, the patch for the translation is quite large, and when I apply the patch it increases the ROM size by 50%. So it's probably moving a bunch of stuff around to make room for more text, and thus the patch for this hack isn't writing over what it needs. So it doesn't look like their patch can be combined with other patches, sorry.

Yeah, I tried to download the patch with a translation hack, it didn't work. But I only now just figured out there is a ROM with the patch already installed! That ROM does work, I can't run away anymore and the mushroom monsters in Guardia Forest deal crazy damage Should pay better attention next time! Either way, thank you for the help!
Still undecided on picking wait or active for battles, is it advised to pick active or is the game difficult enough on wait?

Call me coward, but I can't imagine myself playing active. Early in the game you may actually manage (with some balls and controller-skills), but later on it's quite intense.

Hello there, just checking in...is version 1.1 the final version of this hack ?
Rather, is this hack currently being updated/worked on ?
Really enjoyed CT back in the day, but never really saw it as an easy game.
* well, maybe during new game+ runs *
After reading the change logs, it seems a lot of work went into this patch/hack.
Also, are there any tips you can give for playing this game ?

It's not being worked on and is for all intents and purposes final. Maybe one day I'll revisit it, as I often do with my hacks, but there's no definite plans there.
When I played CT when it first came out, I don't think I really saw RPGs in terms of "easy" or "hard". It was certainly a more innocent time for me. Going back to play it as an adult, though, I find it extremely easy.
The only real tips are to be mindful of the fact that Dual / Triple techs are much more powerful options here than in the original game, and to go through Guardia Forest 1000ad once and spend your money before going on to Lucca's experiment at the start of the game.

@zombero
First off, thanks for the reply !
Okay, I have noticed that the PS-Vita and Vita-TV have had quite the breakthrough for emulation.
* was looking into checking this out on the go *
Hmm, well it has been a long while since I have re-visited the game (NDS days)
But if enemies are not hitting for 999 from start to finish...I should be able to scrap by.
Oh, combo techs are even more powerful now ?
I can't recall if enemies could use them or not.
Cool, and thanks for taking the time to get me started with the tips ^_^"
Anyhow, I will let you know how it goes !
