Insane Difficulty: save file deleted - Insane Difficulty

So I saw on another thread that someone had an issue with the valentina battle. I had an issue as well. the fight progressed like normal and when it came time to fight dodo after mario came back from his solo battle with him. I whaled on him for a bit and then when mario went to attack after his attack animation finished the game soft locked on me. I restarted to find that my save file had been corrupted. I am using the current version of armageddon with the copy of the game included as well as the emulator reccomended

If the game battle engine tries to load too much data at once and it results in a soft lock it can corrupt normal save files. It doesn't seem to necessarilly wipe all 4 slots but it's still unpleasant to encounter regardless if you don't have save states. Which weapon/spell were you normal attacking with in particular when things froze up? Being vague about which attack caused the freeze doesn't help DK figure out what attack caused the problem in the first place (some attacks are more prone to freeze than others).

it was the ice hammer. I performed both timings perfectly. I didn't know soft locks still happened. I think what it was that did it was the flash of blue the ice hammer creates on top of the white background.
