Version 2.1.0 is in state of private Beta Testing! It should be released tonight!
It will include:
Level Changes:
A complete Redesign on Spark Mandrill's stage!
Polishes on all existing stages, adding mobility!
Small bugfix on Chill Penguin's camera, in the whole ride armor section!
Engine changes:
-You can now exit the Sigma stages!
-Neon Jumps fixed: X shouldn't hover like he used to after shooting a pink buster!
-Subtank fill: After dying or entering a stage, your first subtank will always get filled!
And I might be forgetting something.
If no bugs appear during / after the release, we can consider this the definitive version of Hard Type!

just wanted to mention that up until say... the very late 80s at best gameplay infused with an actual, bonafide story was rare. Not counting text adventures which rely on story just due to their nature. Almost always it was gameplay first and the story was tacked on much later in development. Whether or not you like to admit it, both Zelda and Metroid on NES are both games which are examples of this. The game/gameplay was made first, and the story was tacked on at the very end. Its something many developers struggle with even today.
