First of all I wanted to say thanks for the mod! I can't imagine all the work that went into this and I've enjoyed every second of playing it. So my questions for everyone are about the end of the game. I'm about to take on all the extra battles so I wanna get my party decked out. So here they are:
Is there a ribbon and where?
Is there Contain materia and where?
Are there any materia left out or not needed for master materia?
Any changes to chocobo breeding?

Ribbons are dropped by Abyss in Extra Battle, while Contain is won from Gil Turtle (I think; if not then it's Variablis); talk to the NPC in navy blue standing nearby to get Materia after beating an Extra Battle boss for the first time.
I think the only disabled Materia are Long Range and some of the Plus Materia which are all Independent type and not part of any materia blending. You likely won't be able to create Master Summon though, due to the Summon Materia only being 1-Star. I was actually supposed to disable Materia blending altogether but I clean forgot about it.
Chocobo breeding is also the same; Vlak (the red dragon) now drops the Carob Nut instead of having it as a Steal, and I think you Morph for the Zeio Nut from Goblins. Besides that, it's identical.

Ok thanks so much. If the game is intended to not have master materia, I'll just skip it. Also, on disk 3 I can't access rank up from save points. Is that how it's supposed to be? I also realize in another post that you mentioned an items database, but the link was broken.

You can't access the rank screen anymore on Disc 3? Which save points are you using?

I tried fort condor, the created one in the crater, both in gold saucer and any others I came across. I'm using stream version and 7H by the way if that means anything

Maybe it's something to do with the 7H version, there was a problem before with it. Are you using NT from the new 2.0 catalog? The Crater save points don't have rank because they're a bit...odd, but the others in the locations should be working. Do all the options display correctly/does the button to enter the rank screen do nothing?

Yes 2.0 catalog and yes everything else on the save murmured works correctly. The button is the same as the button to make the pointer and indicators for exits to show up and that works too

Wait, the pointer/indicators are toggled using 'Assist' ('Select' button on a PS1 pad). The Rank Up screen is accessed (when the extended save point menu is being displayed on-screen) using 'Camera' (Should be L2 or R2 on a PS1 pad). Were you pressing the wrong button?

No I tried every button. Idk how the pointer got mapped to l2 but trust me I tried everything. Plus it was working fine on disk 2

So it sounds like Rank isn't working because some of the keys have been remapped through either a glitch in-game or something else, maybe throwing off the script. I can't guess what the cause might be though, are you using any mods that improve controller support, etc? It might be worth a shot remapping your keys through the in-game Config menu or temporarily swapping over to a keyboard just to see if you can correct them to what they're supposed to be.
If that doesn't help, then I could set up a special work-around for you where a field script (maybe talking to an NPC) will warp you there or I could change one save point to use a different key maybe.

Great idea about the keyboard. It worked. I have no explanation what happened to the controller settings on disk 3 but everything else worked. Thanks so much. Any ideas for the item database?

Thanks again. For anyone reading or for your future reference: I was getting a glitch in the Dark Cave that made the text stop in the very first dialogue. I had to turn off the field models mod in 7H.

You mean the opening scene in the train station doesn't work if other field model mods are installed? I'll investigate.

Yes exactly. I'm not sure what it was exactly. I disabled field models and character overhaul system so one of them was causing the freeze. I'm not sure why. Cloud and Barrett spoke a couple of lines then they stopped and I couldn't do anything. But the game wasn't frozen. I just wanted to say thanks again, too. Awesome mod

That first screen of the game is a bit mysterious; I originally had a skip option for the Opening FMV that would work on the 1998 version but would crash the Steam game.

I'm now having another problem with the screen after you get they sector 5 key and then cloud faints. It goes to the screen with Red and Tifa in the whirlwind maze. I can see the text boxes but nobody on screen. When the dialogue is over I can't do anything

There's a patch for that problem, the flevel hotfix: http://www.insanedif...oad-links-news/
Apply it like the main installer, should just patch right over the top.
