According to the classes file that comes with the mod, Carlie (Enchantress) should learn Ghost at 15 PIE, and Ghoul (I think) at 16 PIE. After acquiring Shade, I raised the stats and she didn't gain anything. I'm currently in Bucca...
Also, Lise (Valkyrie) should have learned Mind Up at 12 PIE... and she didn't learn that skill, either.
Are these the correct numbers? Am I too early in the game to learn these skills, do I need another spirit?
The enemies in Bucca are also stomping me pretty hard and then picking my bones from the soles of their shoes. My party is at level 26.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Thank you!
Not learning skills at the appointed stat levels?

You need the appropriate Spirits, water for Ghost and Mind Up and fire for Ghoul. I think Angela is the only character that can learn her basic elemental magic without meeting the corresponding spirit because she would be useless otherwise.

All spells require the elements they are composed of, with the 4 exceptions marked in the documents - Fireball (light), Ice Smash (earth), Body Change (dark) and Sleep Flower (air).
If the enemies are too strong at that point, you could change for the time being to a lower difficulty and then change back later (or next play through) when you're more comfortable with your equipment selection/play style.

Downgrade my difficulty...?!?!?! NEVER!!!!
Thanks for clearing the spells up for me! I haven't played these particular classes before, and for some reason, I just assumed Ghost and Ghoul would have come with Shade (guessing by the names). Good to know.
Angela/Duran/Hawk is my usual dream team, so this is a lot of new territory for me.

Notice that Ghost and Ghoul aren't dark-elemental. Ghost is an ice spell, and Ghoul is a fire spell. Fortunately, this hack has a great documentation, because it will save a lot of trial and error. Checking classes.txt and maybe skills.xls for details about spells and their requirements is greatly recommended, and whenever I'm playing the game, I have armor_elements_stats.xls and monster.xls files opened in the background.

Ghost is an ice spell? I thought it was a nice spell
Reading this, I probably overdid the documentations.
