My previous good deeds in video games would be something like Chrono Trigger Impossible which is not on this site. It's a good example of a difficult mod that was only hard because all of the enemies stats were simply raised. It didn't have any new content and virtually no game design from what I saw as opposed to a game like FFTactics1.3.

After Pow discovered Insane Difficulty:
I Suck.

This is now my 2nd playthrough attempt of FFTactics 1.3. I gave up the first time on Zalmo 1 because I sucked. I've never done commentary before but my video editing application lets me do it easily so I thought why not. I'll say some silly nonsense to amuse myself, I seem to swear a lot more than others but hopefully somewhere along the line I might say something useful by analyzing my endless mistakes. I usually find what I need on these forums and I follow a few playthroughs of people who are better than me here, which it seems there are many.

I just got to the end of Chapter 2. My party is Capricorn Razma with 2 males and 2 female generics that have good and best compatibility with Razma. Razma and the 2 Male generics are more Physical classes and my 2 Females are the casters for now. I am trying to stay low level for the most part. I've done a few random battles to level up my party from new guests, mainly at the start of Chapter 2. I horde all my JP and I'm just trying to unlock all the classes I can. I Finished Chapter 1 at party level 5 and I'm level 12 right now just before Queklain.

I just recently started editing my videos and I'll be uploading when I can. It's mostly for the lulz and for an old friend. I hope I stick with it this time because I fucking love it and so many people on here inspire me. I play at 90fps because amusingly 120fps was to fast for my brain and I would miss the names of enemy spells/abilities/reactions etc being cast. I might go up to 120 at some point but for now I'll just speed up the bad parts and try to make the videos under 10mins.

Also yeah, you're not really more vulnerable to magic attacks while charging, but your evasion won't work for either physical or magical attacks (if I'm not terribly mistaken).

Thanks Quad, your one of the best. I learn a lot from your playthroughs and your one of the first people I saw that made me realize I suck. And thanks Laith for clarifying the 'charging' state question that I brought up during Thieves Fort.

My uploads continue and I'm pretty confident from the 1 attempt I did on Queklain just now. I hope I don't take to long to progress through Chapter 3 but for me it's just about not quitting and how could I possibly lose if I ask for help?

Ohhh Yeah. Took me longer to render this time for various reasons and I was killing Queklain last night. Then I started to do some squirrel hunting at the beginning of Chapter 3. I might have saved Olan in the process. Uploads should catch up soon.

lol I forgot to re-mention that in my first video after deleting said audio clip. I used to always call Delita DELTA as a kid. Even after my friend corrected me once I still liked DELTA more because Delita sounds all weird when I say it like he's Delicate good sir. As a delicate phoenix down flower looks flying across the rooftops of Dorter Trade City. I think I start pronouncing Gafgarion wrong here to...

Dorter Trade City - Gafgarion goes ham and I'm being pursued by Algus's lackies. This was harder for me than Algus's Playground. At least item wasn't my main source of resurrection this time as I now had wish and white magic.

The very first time I played FFT, I was hanging out at my buddy's house and playing on his playstation (I had an N64, meh), and I started a new game. It asked me what I wanted to name Ramza, and back then I used to rename people in RPGs just because I could.

I named Ramza "Delta" for some reason. Completely random choice, the word was just on my mind for some reason.

My buddy, who'd beaten the game and knew what a coincidence this was, started stammering something like, "oh wow, that's certainly going to be an interesting choice."

The already bad translation of FFT, with all the weird names and typos, got WAY MORE CONFUSING when the protagonist's name was only one letter off from the deuteragonist.

This relates to my next video. I haven't had as many laughs, thrills and fun editing a video like this in over 12 thousand years Brother. It is not the hardest battle but its harder than Boco if something doesn't activate death.

My videos are HD but because my PC can't record fullscreen, I have to resize the original 1024x768 to 1920x1080 widescreen or 4.3 to 16.9 aspect ratio. As long as it works for my monitor of course. I'd like to think it looks good considering on paper that sounds pretty horrendous.

Haven't even scouted Zalmo 1 yet but I've been getting a lot of acorns. Just editing for now, it may take a while but once I'm caught up I just may start shaking fearfully at the new difficulty. Thanks for the comments/feedback lovelies

However, you can save time and only upscale to 720p. That would make no difference in this case.

For anyone interested in why you should ever upscale -- YouTube respects the source material differently depending on the resolution. Anything below 720p looks (and sounds) pretty lousy by default, due to how they reencode the files for youtube. So, upscaling in this case has nothing to do with faking a better picture, it's avoiding youtubes slaughtering of low-res source files.

ETA: In this case, "upscale" mainly refers to the games original pixel ratio, not the emulator output/screenrecording input.

Thanks Kaffe Myers absolutely. I have forgotten a lot of this stuff. I've really just used a few of the HD settings I've read but mainly I use the H.264 AVC video codec to render because that has always given me the best results in the past.

By the way, I'd recommend the output to be 960 × 720. Then you get the original 4:3 aspect ratio and favorable processing when you upload to youtube.

Thanks again friend, I had a feeling that I was rendering overkill because it was taking so long. I did 720p this time, it seems to look just as good and it was a lot faster I changed my emulator output to 960 × 720 for future videos which will naturally start at Zalmo's forced teleport. He will be the third.
