Long time follower and first post. I just downloaded the new version of monster tactics (2.44), and love what I've played so far. However, none of my characters gain any exp/jp after taking actions, and instead acquire 99 exp after battle which unfortunately resets to 0 at the start of the next battle. I've tried looking online and through the forums for help with this, but so far haven't seen any similar situations. I'm playing on epsxe, and I've tried repatching from a clean iso, has anyone seen this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again for the great mod can't wait to keep playing

This is not a bug. This is the way that the new XP gain hack works. You should be resetting at 0 of the next level in the next battle. For example, if you are level 3 after a battle, and you go into another battle, you'll reach level 4 upon that character taking an action or being affected in any way by another's action. JP is automatically doled out invisibly to your humans at the end of each battle, at the rate of 300 jp in the class that they're currently in. There is no JP spillover (due to the way that it is gained).
There is no more gain of XP or JP per action. Each battle gives out +1 lv, +300 JP, +5000 bonus money; regardless of your characters' levels, the level of the enemies, etc.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply Emmy! I was wondering if this was a newer change given the standard post-battle JP increase, but I figured I should ask and want to start becoming more involved with the ID community. I'll continue playing now, thanks again for all of your work on this mod!

No worry. If you haven't already, feel free to stop by in chat (Discord).
And it is a fairly new change - 2 versions ago I changed this.
