Okay. I don’t post often because I don’t have much to contribute, but here’s a topic I can get into.

If you seriously play mods for dialogue, then I suggest reading a book instead of playing a video game. This mod adds so much to the game that if MC Hammer and british accents triggered you THAT badly, then maybe the internet isn't for your little bubble world. You are not the target audience. Glad you're wasting your time.
You’ve thrown this sort of sentiment at me before. People play games for different reasons, and no reason is more valid than another. There isn’t anything wrong with wishing to play a mod for its dialogue, or (on another note) seeking to enhance a story rather than downplay it. Of course this doesn’t mean that enforcing one’s views on another or approaching the subject so angrily is appropriate, but your flavor of dismissal doesn’t help anything.

I agree with everything you’ve said thus far, and you’ve stated it all in a more moderate and eloquent way than I’d be able to manage. Thanks! :>

That said, there's been enough comments on this that I wouldn't mind seeing an alternate script mod. Heck, if I was a decent writer or knew the design goal to shoot for, I'd offer to do the back-breaking work myself.
I’m hoping to make one someday, although nothing that’s managed will satisfy everyone. It’s a fairly complicated affair given that recent or future gameplay boons probably use potential script space, and the script changes are sometimes integrated into gameplay, too. I definitely wouldn’t ask for modder assistance on a facet they don’t really care about, and the “amateur, unpopular fork of a vibrant, updating product” life is a hard one...so the only things I had done prior to my interests cycling were enemy, item and spell-related text, none of which is as relevant as that meaty script. -

The only proper response is , I imagine. I haven't played FFT yet, so no comments on your mod - though I probably ought to start with the original story!

Hello! I've felt the same feeling of "These people are nice, but I don't really fit in here" before, although not on this forum.
On another note, Cave Story is a game that I should really get around to playing one of these days.
Have you tried Mega Man X Hard Type by any chance?
It's nice to see new registration threads again!
It's free and fantastic, one of the definitive indie games. Go give it a shot! There are some mods of worth if you want more afterwards, too, plus an enhanced edition on Steam which is mostly worthwhile for events and enhanced music.
I have not played MMXHT, or indeed any mods here besides BNW. Last time I played Mega Man X was on my tiny Android with no controller, and it was hard enough there. ^_^;
(You know what we need? Mega Man X6 Hard Type.)
My interests come and go in phases, and right now I'm in a Dark Souls/random action platformers/Pokémon romhack mood (also, finals week). No doubt I'll be curious enough to try it someday, though. And yeah, my motivation for making this thread was seeing its section get a new addition again c:

Welcome there. Hope you stick around long enough to learn to love our little niche.
By my nature I'm generally withdrawn at best and absent at worst, but you can expect some long-term involvement as long as there are nice people to return to. :>
