Alright, guys! I'll probably be working some more on Dragon Trial between now and January. College for me starts on the 7th, so I'll try and get a couple releases out before then.
I'd like to hear any and all thoughts regarding 0.2 (such as what you think needs tuning, opinions, etc) and what you'd like to see in 0.3. Hit me, guys!

namely a boss rush like in SMRPG Armageddon if possible? maybe not as tough as what it sounds like but something similar to it and make it so that you have to fight all the bosses from earlier in the game and maybe make it so that you could warp there before the final boss of the game and then have you warp instantly into the final boss's chamber, fully healed without getting a chance to re-gear up?
or even add some old bosses from previous BoF games? either of those would be fun to see in future patches...... I mean if DK can implement Ozma, Magus, AND Schala into Armageddon you should be able to find a way to implement a boss from the original BoF possibly? idk who you would implement, but I just thought id throw that idea out there

Furthermore, hacking an SNES game is way different from hacking a PSX game.
And for the love of God, please use punctuation and line breaks. Not to be an asshole, but one giant wall of text is extremely painful to read.

as for not being able to do those ideas, would it be possible to maybe pull a TLOZ ripoff and implement evil versions of playable characters in game via hex editing?
or maybe at least give the bosses in future patches more ways to cripple you?

There is literally no difference mechanically speaking from what you just asked to what you asked in your original post. Anything that involves inserting new sprites or anything like that is out. Hell, anything that involves sprite editing is also out.
What I can (and plan to) do is something similar to DK's "God Bosses" and put really hard optional bosses in certain areas. As of right now these aren't going to be a type of "you find me, you die" encounter; if I put them in mandatory areas, I'll set their AI so that they don't do anything until you attack them, at which point you're doomed if you're not prepared.

well either way I can't wait to see what comes to light in the future of this hack

I want a new game plus feature where you can import all your items and skills.
I want new dungeons with old BoF bosses and enemies (I'm sure you can create their 3D models)
I want DLC only genes, sometimes I just don't have time to get better (is this doable?)
Anyway, just simple ideas. Keep working hard!

Replace the sound track with the Chrono Cross soundtrack. I liked that one better, personally.
The 2D sprites are fine for the overworld, but it would be cool if you made some 3D sprites for battle. Kinda like the mechs from Xenogears. (Actually, if you could put the mechs from Xenogears in the game, that'd be even better. Vierge and Weltall would be awesome.)
I don't like leveling up to learn spells. How about requiring the player to collect reagents and conduct experiments on them to gain research points towards learning the spell? (You could use Momo's lab for this, and after Ryu becomes an adult maybe by talking to Honey during camp?)
Add in an ASCII roguelike mini-game to be played when you get bored of the game. Check out System Shock 2 for an example if you need help implementing this one.
Thanks.

Just make all the abilities useful and interesting. Try to make the best of what strategic options are available to you
Oh and ability and treasure hunting is fun. Make sure thats prominent but not gamebreaking
And Hell it would be interesting to investigate what tools could be used to hack deeper into the game (though I am already impressed with the current level of modification)

I'm looking on getting someone to write me an editor for Dragon Trial, since editing the hex over and over is tedious to say the least.

I wouldn't give him the pleasure. Besides, Alucard makes RAM editors, not ISO editors. I already have someone working on it, I just need to get around to sending him my documentation.

PSP has a shitty emulator, PSP is not going to have more support, technologically speaking for various reasons.
