These bosses are terrible. The first one is vulnerable to Imp, and wastes his first turn with Reflect Claw (assuming somebody has Reflect), meaning that I have ample time to apply it. After that, I Runic until he uses Imp. That will be absorbed, but it will remove Vanish from Celes. From here on out, it's a race until he kills Celes and un-Imps himself, or until he dies. The odds of me winning are fairly high though, as his HP isn't enormous.
The second one is undead. Game design!

I've climbed this mountain before, the only new things are the randoms. Mag Roaders can remove my Vanish (and destroy the non-Gaus) with Fire 2, but thanks to Gau's insane defenses nothing else really hurts him, so I'm likely to be fine.
The Ice Dragon is a chump. I elect not to abuse 100% crippling status effects against him (a trend that I think I continue for the rest of the game, but I may be forgetting an instance where I did use them), although I did use Poison. With Ice absorption and his defenses, Gau is pretty tough here. He *can* die, but it's unlikely.

This guy was totally in Mega Man X what are you even talking about?
This fight is boring. His only attack is Ice 3. In other words, pretty much the whole fight is just him freezing me over and over.

Woah, a segment with gameplay? That hasn't happened in a while.
First off, I have to slaughter some Tonberries. These guys are pathetic because they can't hit me through Vanish unless I cast Magic on them.
Next up is Umaro. I can't quite jack up Gau's Defense to perfect yet, despite the Snow Muffler (which thankfully absorbs Ice). I can get his hits to be relatively weak, but not enough to survive easily. While I could Berserk Umaro and then cast Vanish on myself, I don't really want to do that. The majority of his script goes to waste because I only plan on leaving one character alive and he isn't using Magic, which means that he'll pretty much just punch me or use Tackle. He has a 1/3 chance of healing me with Blizzard if Gau uses Blaze on him, which heals me for 120, but understandably that doesn't happen very often.
Gau can survive for quite a while, but he won't survive indefinitely. Normally this isn't much of a deal, since Umaro is weak to Poison and it tears through him rather quickly. However, on this run Umaro pre-empts Edgar (already unlikely), and uses Blizzard (1/3 chance), killing my team too early. Now Gau has to do all the damage by his lonesome, which he isn't really cut out to do. Surprisingly he managed to pull through, not that I did anything to help with that outcome.
Finally, I have to encounter all Tomb Thumb formations in this dungeon to maximize my chances of getting Traveler on the Veldt. I could just run around for a while, hit a couple dozen encounters and hope that I get the right ones, but I'd prefer to actually identify what I'm fighting so that I'm sure. Fortunately, it's pretty easy. Simply cast Fire on everything to open the fight.
-If I get four Mega Volt counters, it is Anenome x4 (worthless)
-If I get two Mega Volt counters, it is Anenome x2 + Tomb Thumb (I need this one)
-If I get no Mega Volt counters, it is Ceritops x3 or Ceritops + Tomb Thumb x2 (I need the latter)
At this point wait for the second enemy turn.
-If I hear Dash from the Tomb Thumb (they use it on themselves), it's the encounter I need.
-If I don't hear Dash, it's probably the Ceritops x3 encounter, though I can't be sure. At this point I'll run and look for a different encounter.

Now with twenty percent more racism in the title. >.>
It has been a while since I last uploaded. Mostly that's because it's the end of the school term and it has been difficult to do much of anything recently. It doesn't help that there were technical difficulties with this video (the freeze-frame issue from earlier makes this one completely unwatchable unless I upload it in 25fps).
As for the actual segment, there's really no clever tricks or ideas to deal with these green guys. This segment is about bashing my head into the brick wall until the brick wall falls over. The best I can do is speed up restart times in order to take as many attempts as possible in a short amount of time. This is why I am only using Celes, as it only takes one Engulf from the Zone Eater to enter the dungeon this way. If the battle doesn't contain any Coverts, she's pretty safe anyways with her absurd Magic Block stat. And if the battle does contain Coverts, I'm dead regardless (they're inescapable, like the Ninjas), so more party members wouldn't help.
In addition, I planned my segments to minimize the time it takes to get to the most luck-reliant bits. In the first and third minisode I take a beeline to the parts where I have to dodge the green guys right away. Unfortunately, this means that I need to backtrack after rescuing Gogo, as I am still missing treasure from the first half. The FakeMustache was useless anyways, but I didn't want to take chances.
The room with the falling ceiling is also fairly tricky too, but it's all skill and no luck, which is the opposite of the rest of the segment. I'm surprised I didn't distract myself by talking so much there...

This guy is essentially just cannon fodder to show off how broken the stuff I've acquired so far is. With this equipment, I have some fairly decent Magic Evasion on my characters, particularly Celes. With Gaia Gears to deal with his Earth attacks and Image, his attacks are essentially worthless.
But the main thing to note is that I have finally acquired a Rage that can use Step Mine. Thanks to its property of dealing damage based purely on the number of steps that have been taken, I can hit for an easy 9999 damage. I hardly need it here, but it sure makes things faster.

This boss fight is about as pathetic as they come. The only hitch could be that he blows away two party members, but this is countered by the fact that dead party members always get blown away. So I let Sabin/Celes die during the first phase to get the party I want.

This is the segment where I take out Doom Gaze. As with the last two bosses, this one can't do a whole lot, so most of this video is taken up with the gimmick of finding him. I doubt most people come to these videos just to watch me talk, so if you want to know the times at which I fight him, skip to:

This segment is the one where I go through Owzer's House. This segment is all about managing EXP. There are two forced inescapable encounters on the way to Owzer. The first is a fight between two Dahlings and the second is against the "Still Life" miniboss. Each of them is quite easy to beat, but both of them are a pain in the butt for their own reasons.
For the Dahling fight, I can avoid the EXP entirely by use of a bug. Hidden enemies do not grant EXP when the battle has ended, and one way of putting the enemies into this state is to summon Palidor while Confused. The hard part is making sure that the enemies die while in the air. This can be achieved with either Condemned or Poison in general, and Poison is the obvious choice here. Gogo will use the Bio Blaster at the start of the fight to Poison them, and then I count out ~85 seconds before casting the spells. I put the ATB on Active for this fight to make sure that my time in the menu doesn't affect my count. Only one died in the air in the end, but it was enough, since it didn't cause either Gau or Gogo to gain any levels.
There is no way around the EXP for the Still Life fight, so I need to give it all to Gau. The problem with this is that I can't have Gau present for the fight against Chadarnook, or Relm will re-average to level 7 instead of 6. So I have to bring Gau, kill Still Life, walk back out, Leap Gau onto the Veldt, and then come back again without him. It's an enormous pain, but I don't have any options. Because of this I don't recommend watching this whole video, since it's fairly repetitive. Skip to the parts that don't suck.

I've made it through the dungeon, so all that's left is to fight Chadarnook. This boss would likely be quite difficult if I wasn't OP as all get out by this point. Chadarnook isn't very powerful, but I can't target the right form consistently, and I get very little warning upon the switch. However, with such high Magic Evasion on Gogo, he can barely be hit at all. With double Earrings, Sabin can throw out passable damage with Bum Rush, which can top off the damage and save me a Step Mine. However, Gogo could still very easily carry the fight by himself.

It's more walking, but at least this time it's walking that I haven't done a billion times already. Talking to the Rust-Rid guy requires me to walk into and out of the building right next to him, so that he's standing right next to me. Makes it completely predictable. I spent about as much time preparing the third part of this segment as I did executing it, and it shows, as I make a navigation error that throws me off for a while.

The Storm Dragon, unlike the last few bosses, can actually kill me (*gasp*). Thanks to the unblockable, non-elemental Rage, the Storm Dragon can wipe me in one hit if I'm not prepared. While it's perfectly realistic to just blitz him with Step Mine and get lucky (three will send him into his second phase where he'll no longer use Rage), I can do slightly better than that. Giving Mog the Aegis Shield (not the Force Shield, since he'll lose his perfect Defense), Mog can tank Rage with his relatively high level of 11. Everybody else gets Thunder Shields to survive his unblockable Wind elemental attacks. I keep Mog's HP up so that he can survive Rage, and let Gogo do the damage. It's a short fight, and everything worked out fairly nicely.

Traveling through the Phoenix Cave is mostly about playing my cards right to avoid the inescapable Phase encounters. I want to run into randoms in the lava areas, since there are no Phases there. This could mean triggering an encounter in these areas deliberately sometimes to make sure the encounter doesn't come up when I'm in the cave portion. I also want to walk through as much of the cave areas as possible with Mog (and his handy Moogle Charm), and leave Mog on the Save Point for as long as possible to save scum the Phase encounters away.
When all's said and done, the only insecure parts are:
-Getting Gogo from the entrance to the first exit on the right. This is a reasonably long stretch but it's right next to the start, so it doesn't matter.
-A short trip around through the cave room at the end of this segment.
-Walking Gogo from one switch to the other in the next segment (also really short, but also right next to the end).

Red Dragon is dumb. He can be confused, although I am no longer going to abuse overly crippling status effects in this challenge. His only attacks that aren't walled by Fire protection are his normal physical counterattack (which is laughably weak even if it kills my characters here), and Level 4 Flare, which only hits Gogo. Since I never have Celes attack, she can't die at all. And I've still got Step Mine, of course.

In this episode, I get a few things:
-Cursed Shield (soon to be a Paladin Shield): With its great defenses and ability to absorb all elements, it can turn Gau into a defensive tank.
-Illumina: 50% Magic Evasion allows Celes to easily achieve a perfect Magic Evasion setup.
-Strago: The last character I need to have them all in my party.
-Sraphim: Not very useful, but I want to have 100% completion of all Espers.
There's also another minisode that I didn't include in this video, because it turned out to be a waste of time.

Most of this segment is just navigation, none of which is all that special and you've probably seen enough. Here's the times of the boss fights in case you want to see those:
Master Tonberry - 4:10
Katanasoul - 12:54
Blue Dragon - 19:12
Master Tonberry has El Nino, which always hits IIRC, so it can wipe everybody who isn't Gau. This leaves him as cannon fodder for a Step Mine counter. He also has Quake, which begs the question of why I didn't apply Float before the fight. That being said, with the way his script is set up it's fairly unlikely he'll do a whole lot before I throw out the three Step Mines I need to bring him down. Even with his Step Mine counters giving me a taste of my own medicine (that 9999 really hurts) and slowing me down, he doesn't last very long at all.
Katanasoul is actually pretty similar. He needs three Step Mines to die, he can use Water Skeans to wipe everybody except Gau, and he can use Blow Fish to finish Gau off. The major difference is that he is far more likely to wipe the team with Water Skean than Master Tonberry was to use El Nino. I could have made myself more or less invincible by Stealing some Imp equipment to absorb water, but that definitely would not have been worth the hassle. Alternatively, I could have given Mog the Paladin Shield so that I could revive after Water Skean (which would guarantee victory, I think), but I was too lazy I guess.
Blue Dragon can't pierce my Magic Evade.

Oh no, not the Dream Stooges! How will I ever get past those guys when all I have is an attack that can hit for 9999, a shield that absorbs all elements, and the ability to achieve perfect Magic Evasion? Truly this game is too demanding.

The main danger from Wrexsoul is that I have to kill off my own characters (I'm not using X-Zone strats here). I brought Shadow to throw Ninja Stars at my own characters in order to have a way to kill them while still keeping my invincibility from anything the enemies can do. Reflect Ring and Image protect Shadow, perfect Magic Evasion protects Gogo, and perfect Defense and elemental absorption protect Gau. But Throw can pierce all that, which makes it ideal for this boss.
Thankfully, Wrexsoul has just over 20K HP, which means that I don't need to wait forever for Step Mine to connect over and over again. By expending my one leftover Thunder Rod, Mimicing that, and throwing my Tack Star, I can drop his health to just under 20K, meaning that I just need two Step Mines to connect. Because I can Mimic the first Step Mine to hit Wrexsoul, I only really need one Step Mine to target him correctly. I can tell that Step Mine hits Wrexsoul because if Step Mine hits a Soul Saver it will disappear and reappear, which I can hear. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that last bit at first, but I worked it out partway through the video.
