Welcome to my playthrough for FFT Monster Tactics.
The bombs in Sweegy were no match for my underleveled party.

Dorter Trade City down. No screenshots taken. Fight went smoothly and I forgot to screenshot.
Dirt Rat Cellar down. Screenshot below.
Wound up with my demon and Time Mage Ramza vs two bombs. Ramza locked them down with don't move, and he and the Cthulu demon used relevatively ineffectual water and bolt attacks to kill the bombs 18hp at a time. Due to poor placement of bombs and bodies, only Ramza and the Cthuluvdemon survived.
MVP goes to Ramza for landing 3 don't moves at critical points without botching.
Second MVP goes to Arcenierin for developing a win based strategy.
Honorable mention goes to Cthulu demon for surviving. Well played, Cthulu demon. Well played.

Bombs are very magically defensive (50.2% reduction, plus innate shell which is an additional 50%). Coupled with their massive HP, stuff like Aqua Rake will do pathetic damage compared with physical moves, fractional magic, etc. You can find all info on damage reduction in tooltips.

Best Strategy Award goes to arcenierin for saying "MVP" not "Best Strategy" so that I wasn't sure whether he was really making fun of Hell Knight. (Good strategy.)

Time Knight Ramza decided breaking FemKnight's armor was a great way to drop her. Worked very well.
Starting to appreciate woodpeckers. They are really, really good units.
MVP goes to Ramza for armor break cutting boss lady's hp in half.
Second MVP goes to team woodpecker for being amazing. Seriously. Woodpeckers own. Get some.
