Hello people of Insane Difficulty,
I have been a long time lurker but since I was travelling for like a year I wasn't able to keep up with either my gaming or interaction with you guys so I haven't said much. I'm back into the normal swing of life and I've decided to do one of a few pretty epic gaming challenges that have been bouncing around my head for a while now.
So my question is would anybody on this forum be the slightest bit interested in seeing a LP of any of the following sagas?;
(Warning; Wall of text is about to crit you)
Pokémon! - I shall play the hard hacks in order. Omega Fire, Storm Silver, Omega Emerald, Bloody Platinum, Blaze Black, Blaze Black 2. SET battle mode. No items allowed. No excessive grinding. Nuzlocke rules; if a pokémon dies, it's dead. I cannot switch my team members, death is the only way out. Uber legendaries are banned (not Mew, Celebi et al. just the obnoxiously OP ones). I'm a gym leader, so 5/6 of my pokémon must share a type.
The challenge is to make it through all six of the games before I run out of pokémon. Omega Emerald and Bloody Platinum will be blind as I've never played them. This challenge I'm on the fence about difficulty-wise. Since I will be using EV trained, item holding, perfect stat pokes the early game will be a breeze and I have literally hundreds of lives, but I feel my over aggression and the increased difficulty might surprise me. By my count there's at least 123 Gym leader and Elite Four battles, so I'm not sure it's as easy as I think it'll be. I've heard horror stories that the Bloody Platinum Champion has a team of level 100 Ubers. So yeah...
Final Fantasy! - Same kind of deal but with Final Fantasy. I've never played the earlier ones so I'll need assistance on those (if there aren't hard hacks then I'll take challenge requests).The ones I know and have sort of played are FFVI BNW, FFVII New Threat, FFIX Unleashed and the FFX Landon Ray mod I know about. I kind of hate FFVIII but I know there's a hard mod and I'll include it for completions sake. This one doesn't really have a 'game over' built into it like the nuzlocke challenge but it will take some pretty insane time investment and I guess if I have a party unable to overcome a particular boss I might just give up and that'll be my failure.
I recognise that these uber runs represent possibly a few hundred hours of gameplay that no sane person would want to watch so I'll likely only post important videos like the boss fights, with a brief 'here's what I did off screen' rant at the beginning. If I do the pokémon challenge I'll film all my fights so I can show my 'and here's how my stupidity killed THIS poor fellow' clips.
I've toyed with these ideas for a while now and if anybody is remotely interested in seeing how such a run would turn out then I think that'll give me some motivation when I'm doing some of the more tedious parts. I'll likely do the runs either way, it's just if I bother recording it or not!
Regards, Beast.

Since it's guaranteed to take a fuckton of time to do all of those LPs, I'd say choose the onethat you think you'll like most in the long run. I'll most likely watch either of those. Certainly will if it is the FF one!

I'll go with FF as well, I'd love to watch some of that. Possibly more inclined to New Threat and Unleashed.

Well, if you actually complete one of these... You earn your user name.
Good Luck.

I can dig the first one, primarily because there's a distinct oversaturation of FF challenge runs out there, but nothing really like what you've proposed for pokemon.

I think I'll start with the pokemon run as I'll finish it sooner, I have all the hacks/games prepped, it feels more unique and quite importantly for me it has a built in failure point.
Hehe, challenge accepted!
